Remote unlock / truck / frunk not working

Oh, I even disabled and then re-enabled remote access from the car.

Remote unlock / truck / frunk not working

Have a bizarre issue. All functions from the app including, horn, flashing lights, remote driving, turning on and off valet, sentry mode, etc. all work. I can even lock the car from the app if it’s unlocked. But unlock, trunk and front truck do nothing. The car is unresponsive. App does...

Is 2019.40.50.1 wide on AP2 cars ? If yes, when did you get yours ?

Have a HW2.5/MCU 1 Model X (one of the first — built late August 2017) and definitely no update. Still on 2019.36.2.1. My wife’s Model 3 Performance got the update before Christmas. Honestly though, I’d be happy with no new features and an MCU that wasn’t so sluggish and was actually useable...

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

There are two separate, brand new, high capacity lines from the pool house to the main panel in the main house. One was for the solar, and one is a 70A / 240V trunk to a subpanel for the hot tub (which is oversized for potential future use). The pool house roof is only about 60% covered with...

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

I mean, here is a screenshot from my PG&E bill. I’m on the EV-A plan. My off-peak is sub-3 cents. This does not include the delivery charge however, which was $10 on this bill.

    It’s modified bitumen.

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

For me, aesthetics don’t matter, because my house is three stories, and the south facing roof is in my backyard (you literally can’t see the panels from the back yard—because they’re three stories up!). The additional panels on top of my pool house are likewise not visible since the pool house...

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

There’s no reality that needs to set in. I’m an engineer and I fully understand the dynamics at play. My goal is to fully offset my electricity *costs*. Not be completely off-grid. My cars charge at night using PG&E’s off-peak EV rate of 2.8c/kWh and offset the car charging costs with my daily...

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

Yeah. Given this bait and switch by Tesla, I would highly recommend against Tesla as the solar provider. I love the Powerwalls. But had I known this would happen, I would have gone with Powerwalls from Tesla, but gone with third-party solar.

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

It's not true that you need to upgrade your inverter if you oversize the panels. You can have 8kW of solar and a 5kW inverter. In practice what happens, is you'll be producing at 5kW max for a longer part of the day (earlier in the morning and longer into the afternoon). You lose the benefit of...

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

It's angering that I would have to submit myself to those costs, when it would be technically feasible to daisy-chain two or three new panels onto the existing system and it would work fine as a slightly oversized system for the inverter.

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

Yeah. But I don't want to do that. That means running brand new electrical lines to my roof and trenching new lines to another structure on my property and a mere cost of thousands if not $10,000 because of the re-landscaping I'd have to do.

Tesla will not upgrade its own systems

So I basically spent a whopping $50,000 on a 6.5kWh (with a 7 kWh inverter) + 3 Tesla Powerwall 2s late last year. Since then, I significantly increased my power usage with the addition of a second Tesla car and a new hot tub. Now my system is undersized for my needs. When they sold me the...

Broken Window Twice Within Two Weeks

I know people keep saying this. But it’s not true. Even with the criminal justice reform, breaking into a car is still a felony. And if caught in the act, you will be arrested.

Broken Window Twice Within Two Weeks

What Tesla should do is donate a bunch of Model 3 bait cars to various Bay Area police departments to plant in trouble spots and then stake them out and catch the assholes when they do it.
