Great question.
My March 2015 built 2015 P85D with Insane got the Ludicrous Upgrade in January 2018 that listed this new fuse on my invoice:
HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY FUSE - HYBRID 1 PYRO (1077177-00-A)
I haven't gotten a notice to replace my High Voltage Battery Fuse... but this new HYBRID 1 PYRO...
I don't remember installing the Tesla tap wire from the microphone grill area into the mirror housing for the IRO being that challenging. I think the IRO camera replaces the Tesla mirror cover so the IRO power wires are all hidden inside the IRO assembly. Super Clean installation... Looks...
Tesla did stop offering the Ludicrous upgrade in 2017 but I had ordered it before the through my Tesla app and Tesla said the Upgrade was backordered... and they'd contact me when they had the parts available. The didn't and when I followed up Tesla acknowledged they'd dropped the ball. After...
My March 2015 built P85D got the $5,000 Insane to Ludicrous upgrade in January 2018.
I haven’t received a warning to replace the Ludicrous battery powered pyro fuse so I’m guessing the battery fuse “countdown” began January 2018 when the ludicrous upgrade was installed… not it’s January 2015...
2015 Model S P85D on original HV battery.

My Gen 1 UMC that came with my 2015 MS P85D charges fine with an our dad's 2023 Model 3 LR. My Gen 1 UMC also charges faster than his current Gen UMC he bought with his 2023 M3.
My Gen 2 Tesla Wall Connector on 100A breaker has also charged every Tesla we've connected including a 2023 M3...
I paid QC Charge to pull my LDU speed sensor 2 months before my 2015 MS P85D's warranty expired. Took pictures showing coolant and debris on the speed sensor and presented these pictures to our Tesla Costa Mesa CA Service Advisor and strongly suggested they replace it. They did replace my LDU...
Does my March 2015 built 2015 P85DL ($5,000 Ludicrous Upgrade) have a fuse with a battery?
it went out of its 8-year Extended Warranty warranty August 1st. Currently at 79,000 miles with no battery or fuse issues / warnings.
Runs great !!
Sorry my comment came off as offensive. I meant it in humor 😂 but clearly you didn't take it that way.
Confirmation that my Model S is a 2015 P85D... although more precisely a P85DL+ with MCU 2.0.
LOVE range mode. Use it when our projected destination SoC <= 20%. Definitely adds some range.
My iPhone 13 Pro Max works great in my 2015 MS P85D with MCU 2.0,
Recommend you REMOVE your iPhone from your Tesla's Bluetooth... and REMOVE your Tesla from your iPhone 13 Pro Max... then add your iPhone 13 Pro Max back to your Tesla. Remove / Re-pairing Bluetooth devices fixes most...
Not true. My 2015 P85D with dual 40A onboard chargers can charge up to 80A using my Gen2 Tesla Wall Connector on a 100A circuit after the MCU 2.0 upgrade (which we LOVE).
Best solution is to get your wrecked Tesla to a Tesla Collission center (body shop). I got wonky estimates from 2 Tesla certified body shops to replace my 2015 MS P85D rear bumper a couple of years ago. They BOTH insisted that the cost would almost assuredly be HIGHER and the turn around time...
