Unless Tony has some other tricks up his sleeve, I suspect that's always going to be the case for S and X. The QB grabs onto the top and bottom of the grille/bumper on the 3 and Y, but there is no bumper there on the S and X. Those grilles are particularly flexible compared to the 3 and Y also...
I'm in the camp of carrying an air compressor and plug kit rather than a jack and spare. I call it my "no spare tire kit". It's not going to be enough for every possible situation, but it has always been enough for me in the past.
Ring is taking a pretty big risk on this, IMO. Surely Tesla will add this functionality at some point to the app.
Maybe it will still be worth it to a Ring user to have it in their app with other cameras, but seems like a small market to me.
After seeing grille damage on the forums from some of the other license plate mounts, one of our top priorities in designing SnapPlate for ourselves was to protect that grille. There's nothing to stop a person or car wash from pulling on it until something breaks, so we made sure the plate mount...
We wanted to be able to keep the wireless pad in place and add USB-C PD charging speeds, so here's what we came up with: Wired Phone Fast-Charging Kit for Model 3/Y
The trick was finding USB-C to USB-C cables that would fit, but these do and can handle the full 27W to capable devices.
Since my phone only charges at 5W on the wireless pad and that's not fast enough to do much good on my typical short trips, I've been working on a solution to use that 27W-capable USB-C port in the center console.
We found a manufacturer to make USB-C cables in the proper dimensions, made an...
Hold on a minute there. I started this thread in March of 2019, 9 months before Redwood's products were even announced. This has been a journey of me looking for a suspension kit that meets my needs and being educated about several things along the way, which is the point of a forum right?
I...
Thanks! Just to be clear, that was a general physics statement, not specific to either of these suspensions. If you design for 1" of travel vs 0.5" of travel, given the same force applied, you're going to have to double your spring rate. F=kx.
Though on that note, one thing I have been able to...
Sure! I took some video and photos along the way that I'm compiling into a blog post here: Tesla Model 3 Grand Touring Suspension Installation Tips and Review
I'll make it a priority to update over the next few days.
