Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Can someone with more math skills than me help out? Assuming Tesla makes 1.8 million deliveries this year, given the price cuts, will the 2023 EPS rise much compared to 2022? Or to put it differently, how many deliveries would be needed to grow EPS by 20 or even 30%?

That cannot be accurate. Abandoning zero covid led to everyone being allowed to go out. So if anything it should have helped sales. The 1st step to solving a problem is accepting there is one. Constantly trying to blame external factors does not help. Chinese customers are wanting cheaper models...

Exactly, maybe they waited too long to drop prices in China. Maybe they should have exported more earlier in the quarter. Its okay to acknowledge they could have done better. Yes, they grew deliveries while other manufacturers declined but they missed their own delivery guidance by a lot...

I agree with Troy, we need some action from Tesla. The fact that numbers are climbing so quickly within 1 week suggests demand is weaker than production. People might not want to spend so much in this environment. Price cuts are needed in US. Easiest option will be to reduce 5 seater by 7.5k and...

Remember Berlin likely should have sold about 30k. With higher production and exports from China, would have expected that total EU number to be higher. This likely means there is quite some inventory in EU too or just in transit.

For 2023, Tesla needs an average of almost 490k per quarter to secure 50% growth. Any thoughts on how this will become attainable? China had a spike in demand when prices dropped but that demand seems to have quickly dissipated over 1.5 months. Price decreases further create a belief that there...

You mean we should not base decisions on what the CEO publicly says?

Curious, what is your total cost basis? Its always easier for those who got in very early.

Uptick rule triggered but might not matter if you know who is dumping shares

This is tiresome. Come on, macro, covid, inflation etc have caused damage, affected deliveries. But, you cannot be oblivious to Elon's role by sales and other T***** nonsense

Bad china numbers today didnt help. Any idea whats the analyst consensus for q4 deliveries? Fast approaching my cost basis and any gains have almost been wiped out. Easier for those with much lower cost basis to hold. Would have loved to at least see some insight from the CEO about the reasons...

Its interesting that volume was way higher yesterday but Elon sold the least out of the 3 days.

FTX started declining Monday night. Of course, you could argue they liquidated TSLA in advance in anticipation. TSLA has been hit hard since Friday. I do not think thats related. Again, today's volume was nearly double the average.

128M shares traded today. Higher than post earning days. In contrast SPY and QQQ have had their regular average volumes.

Much higher volumes on Friday and Monday. Already over 40M traded today. This is some big fund selling off or even Elon. Dont think retail can drive this kind of volume.
