Google Play wouldn't allow me install it on my Pixel Tablet. Said it was incompatible. Now when I go to to Play and click on "Manage Apps", it says " This app isn't compatible with your device anymore".

I guess the real question is, which "they"? Regardless, my guess is that there are so few tablets as compared to phones which makes it a non-issue.

We make a lot of road trips as well and FSD does drastically reduce the stress level. I also make a lot of business trips that are about 400 miles (one-way). These trips would completely wear me out without FSD.
