Should I "pay with cash" then switch to financing later to get a Model 3 in time?

I ordered the end of March. FSD. Paying cash. But it still estimates an early June delivery. About 4 weeks after I was planning an extended road trip to visit family now that we're all vaccinated. 😭

PPF and Ceramic Recommendations in Northern Virginia?

Hi. Were you happy with your work? PICS? Thanks.

    [Poll] - Are u buying the Standard $35k or $37k Model 3?

I think most people are buying a Bolt or Leaf at prices a lot lower than MSRP. And the full federal credit is still in effect for a little while.

EV Comparison: Tesla Model 3 Versus Chevy Bolt

That's after the federal credit for a 2018 LT. Of course I don't actually have that offer in hand but getting close. I just need to decide how serious I am. Planning to retire in early 2010 so I need to be a bit more thrifty compared to my current lifestyle. Otherwise I would have ordered...

EV Comparison: Tesla Model 3 Versus Chevy Bolt

It's interesting. I was just about to update a spreadsheet when this popped up. Deciding whether to go ahead and spend about $24k now on a Bolt with the full federal deduction or wait another year for the $36 version of the M3 (after delivery and without a deduction). The M3 wins every...

Realistic Timeline for 35k base Model 3

    Yep . You're right.

Realistic Timeline for 35k base Model 3

With current delivery times up to 4 months I think the full deduction goes away soon for those of us still waiting. Perhaps they'll turn cars around faster in a few months with increased production. I haven't ordered any of the current versions so something significant would have to happen...

Tesla: We are updating all reservation timelines in the next few days

. Oh wow. I would have taken the Thing. Such a classic. And it would be a bit of fun before getting your real car: the Model 3.

Standard Battery should be available in 6-9 months. Will it require premium interior ?

Yep. It is possible I could get the configuration I'm most interested in during Q3/Q4 next year. The Benz just turned 16. With the new tires and wipers it should be good for another year. It's getting old just like me... but still kicking. LOL.

Standard Battery should be available in 6-9 months. Will it require premium interior ?

Ugh is about how I feel as well. $49 + $1 - $7,500 now (assuming a new configuration would still be delivered before 12/31). Or $35 + 1 +5 -0 later. Like some others said I'd rather have purchased $35 +1 + EAP + FSD - 7,500. Not that that has been a reality for the past six months.

Autopilot during rush hour traffic .... a parting of the seas occurs .....

I get that stationary objects like parked cars, trees, trashcans on the side of the road (and on the other side of the lane marker) need to be ignored. But I still don't understand why the computers can detect a stationary object like a stopped vehicle or a bicycle crossing the lane ahead...

Blind spot and dash cam feature teased by Elon

Any thoughts on whether this will require EAP or if EAP will need to be engaged for blind spot notification?

    Decided to cancel

I have been contemplating the same but I don't think there is a reason to cancel unless I buy a different car. It would keep me in line for something Tesla might offer me that I want and at a price I can't ignore somewhere down the road. But yea the federal deductions will be phasing out and...
