Model S charging to 16 or 32 KVA in AC?

Mine doesn't have a dual charger option, and I don't think it is still possible to buy one. As I then understand, no wall charger is needed if the power is single phase? It's only needed to convert the 3-phases into one, what the car's internal charger can handle, I suppose.

Model S charging to 16 or 32 KVA in AC?

Hello all, I'm moving to Portugal, to an appartment building that is being finalized. I'm told by the electrician of the building that they can easily provide 16KVA in my garage box there, or 32KVA if pulling a wire (current wire is 6mm2). This is single phase 240V - 3 phase is not allowed in...

My Experience With EAP Suggests Not Only Won't FSD Go Up In Price, It's Going To Go Down

I also believe FSD is still a distant dream. Years ago, we had the well known (but wrong) examples of how an AI would chose between killing the passengers or killing an elderly person, or children, crossing the road when there is no alternative. That is not a real issue, and not how AI works...

Blog Tesla Plans Original Cars for Berlin, Shanghai Factories

A smaller car is mostly a city car. Tesla will have to figure out how to charge cars in cities: in appartment garages or in the streets. Imho, this is the main reason why people in cities simply cannot buy Tesla's: they have no practical ways to charge them. Public chargers are only a limited...

    Model 3 Multiple Issues

Lol! :) you should apply for a job at Tesla! Even if we talk about physical buttons, you manage to turn them into mini dislays... :D But I'd buy one for sure!

    Model 3 Multiple Issues

@Hank42, Your idea of user-defined physicall buttons, I'd say 2 or 3, linked to the user profile, is brilliant. That would do the trick, easily, for everyone. An if they can distinguish between short and long push, that would make 6. Think about it, it could also be done via the scroll buttons...

    Model 3 Multiple Issues

I agree with some, but not all. 3. Homelink: I have it set up from day on (85D, Nov 2015), and I can't remember it failed once. Possibly your receiver in the garage door not receiving well/badly placed? 2. Random braking: existed almost since the beginning of AP (AP1), and never really got...

restricted regen - not fully charge, nor very cold

I have some doubts about the 5 degree difference - I am talking C here, not even F. It's now clear that regen is reduced below 20C/68F. At the time, it was reduced more somewhere around 8-10C (50F), maybe 12C, certainly not 15C. That makes a lot of difference in a region like here: more than 20C...

I've loved Tesla for 7 years. But after years of abuse, I'm out

I'm not from LA nor SF nor inbetween - Brussels, but also fully agree with the OP. Customer service here is impossible to reach except with the app (but what if you need to talk to someone?). Worse, no one ever picks up on the service number indicated on the SC, whether in Belgium or France: I...

restricted regen - not fully charge, nor very cold

I am, or with less pretention: the customer is. I will ultimately decide if I still recommend Tesla to others as I did in the early days (answer: much less so, with much less enthusiasm, and with several caveats), and I will decide if my next car is another Tesla (answer: some time ago, that was...

restricted regen - not fully charge, nor very cold

I bought a car with an AP that worked for miles without touching the wheel - very confortable for long highway drives - behind my back they crippled it so I've now to hold my hands on the wheel and move it every 20-30s: driving myself is easier, so I don't use AP any more. I bought a car where I...

    Less regen on 2019.40.2?

I was following this thread: restricted regen - not fully charge, nor very cold and see the same here. So indeed, the only thing I can conclude is that on top of the batterygate issue (see many oher endless threads), we now also have a regengate... I was initially really a fanboy of Tesla. Now...

restricted regen - not fully charge, nor very cold

Maybe a somwhat older thread, but I hit it because I was searching about this issue. I've a November 2015 S 85D. Usually, regen was only limited either when the battery was 100% full, or when the temperature was lower than about 10C/50F, and went away after about 10-15m of driving. More...

Model 3 USB-C ports in rear lights

@TraumaDoc I'm not sure where you looked at, but zooming into the video, they really look like USB-C. That would be cool, but at the same time, indeed, a very weird place to locate them. Or when zoomed in even more, with some contracts/light correction:

Sold my Model S after 5.5 years...moving on

This issue is not about failures - these happen and always will happen. And sometime the customer is lucky because there still is warranty, and other times not. This is about a vendor willingly, behind the back of customers and without any notification nor explanation, reducing the capability of...
