It’s a major issue right now with faulty steering issues. Do a web search. AP article dated February 2, 2024. A lot on the web regarding this. Also possible NHSTA recall coming soon.

I have a M3 2019 with only 7093 miles. This has happened twice in the past two months. I have my car in the shop now. Tesla techs are saying its the “ front module controller and steering rack. A web search will tell you the NSHTA is about to do a recall on many cars for steering issues like this.

So if I have turned off the interior camera. It would pop up warnings? Or if the interior camera was turned off AND reports sent to Tesla turned off, the warning camera alert would pop up?

Yes just happened to me while driving

My steering went out while I was driving. A “ steering reduced” warning popped up. When I took a turn I could barely turn the wheel. Mechanic told me it does happen at times. He said get out of car. Park it. And it sometimes resets steering. That’s fine when you’re parked. How about when driving!

As for Waymo. They are two different systems. Tesla’s self-driving is supposed to work everywhere, instantly in real time, without use of lidar, etc. Waymo’s is geofenced to particular cities. Meaning Waymo would basically have to map out the world in order for it to work properly.
