Some more notes for people using this solution: the 1/4" drill bit is a very snug fit. I had to move the drill in a circular motion to make the hole a just a bit wider in order to fit the suction cups through. The plastic on the license plate holder is very soft and easy to manipulate. A needle...

Just installed the suction cups on mine. Turned out great! 1/4" drill bit is just about right. It's a tight squeeze but installed quite nicely.

Suction cups. Really. The cheap $1 ones on Amazon are perfect. I’ve used them on my Model S for years and zero problems. I have a separate thread about it. Planning to do the exact same thing on my 3 when the plates comes.

Has anyone done an extended test of wh/mi on a P3D+ in chill mode? Logically it should make a difference, right? I suppose I should test it myself for a couple days. Clicking the "chill" button, though, interests me about as much as eating cauliflower.

300 miles, P3D+. Mixed driving. Average is almost exactly 300wh/mi. I have mixed feelings, hope it gets better.

I think just the P3D+ (with performance package) has a different chassis code. Probably because the suspension is a tad lower. For the most part, it sure does seem like the significant difference between AWD and P3D (with or without the +) is software. That's ok.

Don't regret it for a second. The RWD is a fantastic car. It's a blast to drive and the range/efficiency is unreal. We have a P3D and a RWD and they're both awesome for different reasons. It's too bad I can't swap the free supercharging from the P3D to the RWD because the latter is the better...
