    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Well we have to wait for Rand Paul to obstruct as much as he can. He pretty much obstructs everything.

Yeah, no. That's not really what we do. I foresee an initial shipment involving 200 m777 artillery pieces with about 50 artillery shells, our remaining Zumwalt class destroyers, a Nimitz class carrier and 4,000 Segways.

Yes we seem to have an oversupply of tanks but looking at how these vehicles get used I'm wondering if Bradley's are a better way to go.

It's great it finally happened but the circumstances blocking it are very frustrating. The votes were always there. But the will of a fringe group of lunatics were able to subvert the will of the majority for all this time. A very undemocratic thing for a democracy to have to endure.

Let us share a moment of silence for Vladmir Putin, Steven Seagal, MTG and Elon Musk. As great of a day it is for the rest of us it is a very dark day for them.

It appears that the US, having exhausted all other options, has chosen to do the right thing.

I could easily see centrists going for this. There's a lot in there for everyone.

It's tough to wrap my head around. I would think in his position that appealing to the center would be a desirable thing. But apparently he believes that being saved by the democrats in a vote of no confidence would be a disastrous thing for his career. It seems he sees that as a method of...

https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/04/17/congress/johnson-outlines-foreign-aid-plan-00152767 Well, there it is. Concrete steps towards a vote. I don't understand the logic in going about it this way. It seems to me that he runs the risk of losing the things his party actually wants.

Well, it makes Marjorie Taylor Greene mad so that's a good sign. I still think he's playing stupid games.

I don't know how much of a difference taking out Russia's refineries is going to make on the price of oil. Some I assume. I would imagine they would just adjust by selling the unrefined product to the nations that still trade with them. Debt wise aiding Ukraine really isn't much of an issue...

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/14/israel-ukraine-aid-congress-00152141 I'm starting to wonder if Mike Johnson personally just hates Ukraine or something. Reading in between the lines it seems like he's going to again attempt an Israel only aid bill. Hopefully Biden holds the line and...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Mike Johnson has decided that woke appliances are a bigger threat to the US than Russia. I'm very sorry, you're going to have to hold the line until the new congress is elected. With any luck we'll be more helpful. Just hang in there.

Take out HV batt pack / cut out bad cell? (S P85+)

I'm inclined to trust him here. He's a bad businessman, not a bad engineer.

I'm guessing it's because the UN Secretary General has clearly began a hobby of huffing paint. And therefore his statements aren't meaningfully connected to reality.
