There is one time when you don't want to precondition. It's when you're low on charge, and need to squeeze the battery to get to the SC. Preconditioning takes a non-trivial amount of energy - in my M3, it bumps consumption from ~250 Wh/mile to ~330. Its better to navigate to a spot beside the SC...

Odd, the findus site above shows a $0.50/kWh, while the app shows $0.37/kWh.

I sit corrected and ashamed! I actually wondered if it might by a Roadster. The hood badge didn't look like a Tesla logo, and the headlights and air intakes seemed wrong (I was looking on Wikipedia). Putting both a CT and a Roadster there is great!
