Insurance is getting out of hand

I've been with them for a few years (2015 S P85D). Last year my premium was $1,800 and this year it's gone up to $2,800... The sad thing is, they're still the cheapest by far. I've tried a dozen other insurer's websites and 90% of them refuse to provide a quote, the remaining few are $5,000+.

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

I’ll probably go for this too… but seems they’ve jacked up the price on that too - it was listed as $2,300 not long ago, but I just asked for a quote and was told $2,780.

    MY RWD insurance all 2k+?

Shannons wouldn’t even give me a quote, because I’m “not enough of a car enthusiast”, whatever that means. What a joke.

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

Elon said it on stage at the AP1 (and P85D) launch event.

    Can't get a straight answer... v11 and MCU1?

    Waypoints would be nice...

    Roadster 2023

I thought we’re talking about a free car? You wouldn’t have “bought” the free car since it’s free. Either you want it and will accept it, or you don’t accept and they don’t give you a free car.

Couldn't they just... refuse to give it to you if you don't register it in your own name?

    V 11 for legacy Model S

Have any MCU1 cars received the update with waypoints?

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

Waiting for Model S Plaid... and hoping they'd bring Plaid+ back by the time they start producing for RHD markets.

Don't trust automatic gear selection on refreshed Model S.

That is not my experience with the stalk (2015 P85D). I often find that the first push does nothing, and I have to push it again to actually shift into D/R. But it's inconsistent - it sometimes works on first try.

Major Yoke concerns from Consumer Reports initial review

You can't please everyone. I guess I'm in the minority (citation needed?) that prefer the yacht floor. I wish they could offer these kind of things as options so we can all get what we want, but that seems impractical for them from a business perspective while they're still scaling up their...

    Yoke Steering

I find it extremely difficult to indicate left to exit the roundabout using a normal wheel/stalk, because my left hand (which holds the 9 o'clock of the wheel) would be roughly at 2 o'clock position as I move through the roundabout, but the indicator stalk is obviously still back at the 9...

    2021 Refresh Model S Discussion

I hope they at least add some tactile markings on the steering wheel buttons, so you can feel for them without looking.
