    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Just to report that high-res USB playback is STILL BROKEN following the "Christmas" software update to 2020.48.12.1 (at least, on my car). FWIW: I have reported this issue to Tesla multiple times now. I eventually had someone asking me to provide audio samples that would replicate the issue...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Thanks for the news! No sign of any updates for either of my cars - but I'll now know what to expect :-)

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Very possibly, but this is the latest firmware for my two Teslas (these are both AP1.0 - perhaps that's why?). In any case, I'm now in a state where a Tesla firmware update has removed functionality from my vehicle…

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

Thanks to @f205v I've just found this thread, having reported elsewhere (High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?) that my car with an older firmware version (2020.36.11) had mysteriously lost the ability to play my 24-bit 96- or 192kHz FLAC files. I reported this to Tesla via the "Report a Bug"...

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

Thanks for the link! So, after 6 years of ownership, what do we get? The ability to play silly games in a parking lot. Great.

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

For reference, this is what I see when trying to play a high-res FLAC file:- IMG_6847 by d.c.palmer posted Nov 19, 2020 at 10:13 AM For those that care, this is the recent Channel Classics recording of Mahler's 3rd symphony with Ivan Fischer conducting the Budapest Festival Orchestra. It's an...

    High-Res Audio Broken!

Attempting to play a high-resolution (24-bit 192 kHz) FLAC file on system version 2020.36.11 (these files used to play fine!)

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

Many thanks for confirming my suspicions! Much appreciated… This raises an interesting legal issue: conventional cars generally get worse with time, whereas Tesla claims that - thanks to its over-the-air software updates - its vehicles get better with time. That's until they go and break...

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

good points, but my car (just) missed AP2.0 - it was a P90DL that qualified for the P100D upgrade, but only has AP1.

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

Interesting, Richard - thanks for trying that. I’ve checked and it looks as if my firmware is older than yours: I have 2030.36.11 - so perhaps this was a bug that got fixed? Interesting to hear other people’s experiences - thanks again!

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

that might explain the slow reboot, but I don't think it explains the audio issue; it's much more likely that some teenage geek in Fremont didn't think anyone would ever listen to audio files at higher than CD resolution (I mean, we're all supposed to be listening to sub-fi streamed music over...

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

OK, just been out to the car and rebooted the 17" screen. Took forever to restart and I then had to wait for the best part of 10 minutes for the system to scan the USB drive (this is a 256 GB drive that's nearly full). The result? No difference! Trying to play a (previously-played) 24-bit 192...

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

Yes - that's why it's such an annoying problem!

    High-Resolution USB Audio Broken?

I'm having an issue with high-res audio not playing from a USB stick and I wondered whether it's just me, or if Tesla has gone and broken something (again) in a recent firmware update? Specifically: The problem concerns playback from certain FLAC (lossless) files stored on a memory stick. My...

    Charge for Warranty Claim?!

This matches the wording in my own warranty agreement, which I finally located in my car's glovebox (where else?). I think the important point - at least in my case - is the reference to "normal noises and vibrations". My contention is that an irritating rattling noise from the dashboard is not...
