    Powerwall Manager SmartApp for SmartThings

Powerwall Manager v0.3.60 is now available and includes the following changes since v03.30: v0.3.60: Added Storm Watch Active status, added delta Watt threshold preference setting for power reporting, enabled dimmer level for reserve control/status using the base Powerwall device, added Child...

    Powerwall Manager SmartApp for SmartThings

Powerwall Manager Version v0.3.30 is now available. This update includes the option to specify a refresh token instead of an access token, eliminating the need to enter a token every 45 days. The update also includes the ability to command and schedule off-grid operation. Off-grid commanding is...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

Full support of the local gateway interface is on the to-do list of potential enhancements for the Powerwall Manager (when running on Hubitat at least. SmartThings currently appears to have an issue with handling the local gateway self-signed certificate). The local gateway API is different...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

I'm not sure why, but with Self-Powered 100% Reserve, every once in awhile some solar was being sent to the home instead of charging the Powerwall. I didn't investigate the few times I saw this happen. It may be that the Powerwall didn't really accept the 100% reserve setting, even though it...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

I can't say I've tracked my bill closely as of late, but I'm pretty sure based on my first few bills that it's the former, with the caveat that your demand is averaged over the number of on-peak days for the billing month. Weekends and holidays don't count, so it's typically around ~21 days each...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

I would also encourage those in SRP territory with solar and Powerwalls to also look at the E-15 Average Demand Plan rates. I do not believe I have had a bill that would have been lower on E-27 since the E-15 rate plan was implemented about 1.5 years ago. E-15 has higher demand rates than E-27...

    Powerwall Manager SmartApp for SmartThings

@Odiemac, are you still having issues with the Powerwall Manager app? The auth token refresh logic for the app was updated/improved in January, so if you are running an earlier version than v0.1.8e.20200104 (Jan 04, 2020) this could be the issue.

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

That's great! A 39% daily cost reduction and ~5kW demand drop is nothing to sneeze at considering the 4 A/C units, single Powerwall and no solar. Are you still scheduling the hourly reserve % reductions with the app?

    Powerwall Stormwatch

A Stormwatch grid draw during peak hours would result in a huge demand charge with my utility demand rates as well. If you have a SmartThings or Hubitat Home Automation hub, you can schedule Stormwatch to be off during your utility peak periods with this app: Tesla Powerwall Manager app for...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

Looking at the data for yesterday at least (I love looking at that stuff), overall, the single Powerwall handled your peak period demand as good or better than my expectations. As you saw, it looks like that peak demand for the day was 1.7kw, but would have been roughly 4.7kW without the...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

I have occasionally seen the PW drop a little below the set reserve level, but it's probably less of an issue with solar, since the PW will never draw from the grid for battery charging. The Tesla Powerwall firmware may need to handle grid only hysteresis situations like this a little better...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

Since you don't have solar, you may be fine not ever setting the reserve to 100%. I admittedly am not very familiar with how exactly the Powerwall operates with grid only and no solar charging. With solar, I've found that the TBC mode "smarts" don't always work/predict well and I sometimes begin...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

I generally have zero demand each month now that I'm running in Self-Powered. Considering you have 2 Powerwalls, a single AC, and a one hour demand period, I'm guessing you'll get pretty close to zero demand even in TBC mode. Since SRP uses 30 minute demand periods, a single demand spike for me...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

Yes, I'm still using Self-Powered. I schedule reserve in the app to 0% before peak and then back to 100% at peak end. I probably should be more concerned about a missed command, but since I'm also running the demand manager software in the background, if I were to get a demand spike due to the...

Strategies for Powerwalls and Utility Demand Plans

This schedule looks good to me for APS 3pm-8pm peak hours. You'll also want to add a return to 100% probably at 8pm. I'm really interested in how this works out from a demand shaving perspective. Good luck!
