Had it with unfounded forward collision warnings; switched to Progressive

Had Geico for years, then they jacked my rate for no reason. Switched to Tesla and was happy at first. But then my safety score started plummeting (due to driving slowly down a residential street and having parked cars trigger it all the time) and simultaneously they jacked their rates...

Anyone out there have Progressive or GEICO?

Had Geico for years, then they jacked my rate for no reason. Switched to Tesla and couldn't stand it (stupid forward collision warnings for no reason near parked cars kept plummeting my safety score and upping my rate -- just not interested in that stress and ruining my day all the time. Just...

    FCW setting and Safety Score

Based on my own anecdotal experience, I am convinced that if you set FCW to "early" it registers more dings on your safety score. For several weeks I had it set to early on the thought that when the alert went off I'd have time to slow down before it would register a ding on my safety score...

    FCW setting and Safety Score

Yeah, I'm not talking about driver assist. I'm just talking about normal driving (not on autopilot) and the FCW going off far too often. That is just not fun. Given that both auto wipers and FCW rely on the front facing camera, and the auto wipers are completely erratic and their performance...

    FCW setting and Safety Score

Not sure what you mean... When not using autopilot, FCW absolutely affects your score. I have mine set to early, just got another ridiculous warning, slowed down immediately, but it still registered as an event, dropped my score 2 points, and upped my premium $9. It's not the $9 that's the...

    FCW setting and Safety Score

If I have Safety Score v1.0, does that mean I'm stuck with it? There's no way to force an upgrade to v1.2?

    FCW setting and Safety Score

Well, replying to myself. I've had it set to early for weeks now and keep getting ridiculous FCWs. Not once have I braked in time to avoid getting dinged. So, I'm suspicious that setting it to early simply results in more dings. The FCWs are about as accurate as the auto wipers, which turn on...

    FCW setting and Safety Score

Cross post from Insurance forum, because got no response there... FCWs are frustrating as they seem often unpredictable/unwarranted but ding your Safety Score and therefore affect your insurance rate. I've read that setting FCW to "early", which makes the audible alert happen earlier, means...

FCWs are frustrating as they seem often unpredictable/unwarranted but ding your Safety Score and therefore affect your insurance rate. I've read that setting FCW to "early", which makes the audible alert happen earlier, means you may be able to brake before there would have been a FCW under the...

    No Safety Score showing

Ever since I became eligible for the FSD beta and enabled it a couple weeks ago, the Tesla app on my phone no longer shows a safety score. Right around the same time I also signed up for Tesla Insurance, but that doesn't go into effect for another week. Any ideas why I'm not seeing a Safety...

Tesla gives $3,750 discount for Model 3/Y in the US this month

Really kind of blows for people who took delivery within the last week. Leaves a bad taste.

    What does this mean?

Right. So even with that setting on, if you just ease off the accelerator slightly it will not need to supplement the reduced regen braking with friction brakes. So I guess energy wise that's not introducing any loss.

    What does this mean?

(I have a Model 3 actually. I know wrong forum. But this thread was on point.) Thanks. These instances of blended braking waste energy, no? Seems to partially offset purpose of normally capturing energy by regenerative braking.

FSD beta is now available to everyone who has paid for it with no safety score requirement

I just got the FSD beta two days ago. I also signed up for Tesla Insurance the same day (policy hasn't started yet though). I no longer have a Safety Score. It says "Policy must be in effect to transmit driving data". (Not sure if that's referring to the insurance policy?) It also says...
