Weird that people are defending Tesla here. They advertised something they're not providing, period. Doesn't matter if "you don't understand" or "it's not FSD Beta". FSD is FSD. Trying to slap a beta in there to segment it out is stupid and ya'll know better than that.

Exactly! Although I'd be more mad if I had paid for FSD and couldn't really use FSD.

Cant say for sure if it'll make much difference to your payout but you should mention it to your adjuster along with any invoices or documentation.

Update time: Just got word that the car is a total loss.

Not yet, shop is just sitting on the car waiting to rip it apart for an estimate. The back seats wouldn't release, didn't see any manual release. Shop will have to figure that out.

Thats what we tried (got the newer 16v battery in this S). Nothing. Best guess is something shorted out, low voltage worked a few minutes after the crash. Ah well.

Did your low voltage also cut out? They still haven't been able to get power on to open the trunk - still waiting to get my personal stuff out of the back. Haven't seen any other way to open it up, back seats wont go down so can't even try to use the emergency release.

Just wanted to say, if you're in SoCal there are some LR 3s available for same day if your service center is trying to clear space. I just ordered one today and got a call from the Camarillo center to ask if I could pick up today. Same day. Crazy. I'm still waiting on what's going to happen...

The S I have/had? has the swiveling MCU and all that. Does sound like it's going to be declared a total loss based on conversations so far.

No B pillar avail, I wish they allowed you to record that. Would be cool if the car was able to even use the side from impact if it knew.

Just got back from the tow yard and wasn't able to get into the frunk or trunk to get anything. Nothing would release and I couldn't squeeze into the back to try the emergency latch (if there even is one in the S, there has to be right?) Here's some more pics of the damage for those interested...
