My one off creation predates Zero Motorcycles by 2 years

Since I'm in the market for a Zero Motorcycle I have been reading their site's every page. When I read their 10 years of history I was taken back by their very first offering since its power train was the same that I fabricated in 2005. Celebrating 10 Years of Innovation || ZERO MOTORCYCLES I...

    Zero Motorcycles

So you feather between whatever regen level you programmed and no regen? I can see on pavement programming for max regen might be a bit jerky but no tire skid. If I buy I would want to ride dirt too, so since regen is an on-off proposition and not linear, I would probably have to program a lower...

    Zero Motorcycles

Thank you for your reply. How is regen applied? What I think would be perfect is if the twist throttle had 2 potentiometers, from a resting position twist downward for "go" (like all motorcycles) and for regen return to resting position and start twisting upward for linear, controlled regen...

    Zero Motorcycles

I can't seem to find any detailed info on regen on Zero's website. I think you can program for a lot but how is it activated? I would assume as you close the throttle it comes on, but can you ramp up to max with the throttle being twisted the opposite direction? I hope it isn't the old two stage...

    P100D goes 10.63...

I'm amazed at how easy it is to run a 10.6, just mash the pedal. If I do everything right I turn a 9.7 but launch and clutch engagement has to be perfect, can't nail the throttle in 1st gear, 2nd gear engagement has to be quick but smooth and get to nail the throttle if track conditions are...

    Speculation: Model 3 as a three-wheeled car?

Might you have things confused? The Aptera is a 3 wheeled mode of ground transport, it doesn't fly.

DMA - Turkish EV with a 400km range, stating their tech is better than Tesla's

They already start with at least two strikes against them using cells with 1/2 the whr per kg, add that to an inefficient ICE conversion, and I don't think Tesla has any worries. Tesla will always adapt to the highest energy density battery while this firm is using cells I used years ago. The...

DMA - Turkish EV with a 400km range, stating their tech is better than Tesla's

They are using 112 prismatic cells like the ones I used at 1/2 the energy density of the Panasonic 18650. Cell voltage is 3.25 X 112 = 364 volts for a single series string of 110 ahr cells. Here is what (4) 100 ahr cells look like, I haven't hooked up the series buss bars yet in this picture.

    Speculation: Model 3 as a three-wheeled car?

As being registered as a motorcycle, I don't think they were required to crash test. I lived 20 miles from their Vista facility, a really efficient car either diesel, hybrid, or electric. But then the economy tanked in 2008, and in a couple of years so went Aptera. Hope you were one of the...

    Speculation: Model 3 as a three-wheeled car?

We all know that, the OP was a spoof based on a "August, 2017 article in Road and Track." But why not play with the idea that a recently bankrupt company did in fact build a car that could slip through the wind at 55 mph on 80 whr. The design has been done, the molds and other assets would be...

    Speculation: Model 3 as a three-wheeled car?

Your right but in early testing with a small diesel it got 120 mpg at a steady 60 mph. Just think of the electric range.

    Speculation: Model 3 as a three-wheeled car?

That is rich. But I wouldn't mind Tesla buying the molds for the Aptera and offer the most efficient means of two passenger transport. With its very low drag, weight and rolling resistance I would expect your range guess but a 0~60 closer to 3 seconds. A nice feature of the Aptera body...

85kw motor for sale - No Longer Available

You might want to reword your description of the motor. To us roll your own EV types, a 85 kW motor is just that, 114 hp. Your motor came out of a 85 kWhr Tesla, but the motor is a 283 kW unit (380 hp).
