I just had the battery fuse replaced on our 2016 MS. In warranty ( 7.5 of 8 years), $0 and 30 minutes at the SC. Just enough time to photograph the Cybertruck (no touching) and Optimus!

I agree, it’s the BATTERIES! I’d like to see a GF on every continent that has a grid for TE production. Work with the governments to help finance but SPEED up the adoption of TE and the semi. Any excess batteries can always go to powerwalls or cars.

OT Funny story, I ordered Ashlee Vance’s biography of “Elon Musk” from Amazon (of course) and it arrived. In a few minutes Alexa announced, “Elon Musk has arrived!”

I really think a new model year for S and X in 2020 incorporating 2170s and all the upfits at a higher price would allow a good transition from current S and X. Maybe S2 / X2 ...

There’s additional costs beyond car battery costs - land, preparation, inverters (in Powerpacks), transformers/ interconnect equipment, etc. And installation labor. One big expense they avoid is fuel that a peaking plant would require
