Bike rack for 69 pound ebike?

Check these guys out: QuikRStuff - Proudly made in the USA. - QuikRStuff - Home of the Quik Rack Mach2 Bicycle Rack It’s from the designer of the 1up (some sort of split over ownership) with some improvements like the tray pulls out to make a ramp for heavier ebikes.

phantom braking. Are you still experiencing it with latest software update?

Using TACC on a 2 lane road, I get brief slowdowns approaching rises regularly. It’s like the car can’t see the road ahead so hesitates. I’ve also had occasional braking for hard shadows on the same road. I had a scary moment on a highway last week with a car to the left and a car pulled off the...

Autopilot blinded, disengaged by sun on interstate

I used to live in Seattle. At that time, the average number of sunny days in January was 3. That means “there was a brief sighting of the sun somewhere in the Seattle area.” Now I live where it’s the opposite. But I digress...yes, I regularly see low angle sun interference that knocks out...

Tesla experience living far from a Service Center

I'm 6.5 hours from the nearest service center. I've been once with my 2018 3D stealth to fix the turn signal and replace windshield from a stress fracture (under warranty). I need to go again now for a windshield crack right in driver's vision from a chip that ran within a minute of the initial...

Someone ran into my new Model 3

Nope. My daughter was rear ended at a stop sign. USAA decided to settle with split responsibility 50/50 without telling us and immediately hiking rates. Don’t trust them!

light hearted request... your car name? - and why

Jabir after Jabir Ibn Hayyan, credited with applying scientific methods to alchemy and in the process laying the foundation for modern chemistry.

    Battery degradation???

To be fair to the OP, one of the reasons the topic keeps coming up is there's never been a definitive explanation, and there are lots of myths. My car as an example would charge to 308-310 at 100% and 278 @ 90% for the first year I had it. Then overnight it dropped to 289/260 where it remains...

Wait until battery day to order a new Tesla?

Getting back to the OP, no harm in waiting a couple months, especially considering the recent factory shutdown, the Y being a new vehicle, and ongoing COVID-related changes to manufacturing, all of which likely impact quality control. But it's hard to imagine Tesla will say anything on battery...

Model 3 long range vs other premium sports sedans

Love my stealth 3PD. The acceleration never gets old :) As others have said, wind and road noise is probably the most noticeable difference coming from an Audi. Interior materials are not as nice in the 3. QA is a mixed bag. There's less to go wrong on a 3, but I'm on my second turn signal stalk...

    Winter Tires

I got the Pirelli Sottozero 3 with foam for Teslas and a set of wheels from Tire Rack. They were quieter and handle better on dry pavement than the OEM MXM's, which are getting close to replacement. They are a "performance" snow tire, which I think means less squishy than a straight snow tire...

Road Trip Question for Long Desert SW Multi Stop Trip

It’s really hot in Moab this time of year. Durango’s about 2:45 from Moab. Cooler and more high country hikes.

If there was a 100 mile range upgrade what would you be willing to pay?

Speaking as a rural resident (nearest interstate is 3 hours away), the choice isn't between spending more time charging vs gassing for long trips, it's between getting there and not. We have a 3D and ICE truck. I LOVE the 3 and take it everywhere I can. If my wife and I want to go to Santa Fe...

Will you buy FSD before the $1,000 increase on July 1st?

I bought EAP on my 2018 and declined FSD. EAP is nice on certain roads and lengthy drives, but features like NOA and Summon are of marginal value to me. TACC is what I use the most. Anyway, my thinking at the time was FSD is pretty far out. Easily 3 years from 2018, but I *STILL* think FSD is 3+...

Reduced Range - Tesla Issued a Service Bulletin for possible fix

This is really similar to mine. Stealth 9/18, 14,757 miles. I'm seeing 260 @90% charge. For the first year, 90% was 278, then it dropped rather suddenly.

Model 3 100 kWh battery and Ludicrous Mode [speculation about future developments]

Look, I never asked you to do a deep dive on locations, I just shared my experience. Durango doesn't have a SC, so I have to make it home. I've done the Abq -> Dgo drive dozens of times in winter and summer (kid played soccer in Abq). In winter, I typically have 5% left at the point where I have...
