    Arizona Powerwall Installs

Storm watch activated today apparently due to the Red Flag warning for tomorrow in our area.

Still working for me for some reason on app version 20.49.0 as of 3/1/2021. Edit: I now recall a number of weeks ago when they updated the software and it broke my Hubitat briefly. I had to change my powerwall password and log back into the Tesla account in the hubitat power wall app to get...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

I’m using Darwin’s Powerwall Manager via Hubitat. Set to run self powered exactly 5-9am and pm and it works instantaneously with 0.0 daily or ave demand. Did you verify no excess loads causing the spikes?

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

Working flawlessly for me on Hubitat. I know there have been issues on SmartThings which is why I made the switch to Hubitat.

The 2.81 cents is for the non-demand solar plans. I think you’ll want to do the E-27 or E-15 plan (demand charges sound like a non-issue with your system) and sell at the net metered rate (3.7 to 6.22 cents per kw).

No way you should be paying sales tax in Arizona for your powerwalls connected to solar system. Here is the actual tax exemption (see line 27 on page 4). I paid zero sales tax but purchased from local company that is more in tune with state tax laws and exemptions...

No way you should be paying sales tax in Arizona for your powerwalls connected to solar panels. Here is the actual tax law (see line 27 on page 4). I paid zero sales tax but purchased from local company. https://www.azleg.gov/legtext/50leg/2r/bills/sb1229p.pdf

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

I’m adding a second powerwall but by my local installer rather than Tesla directly and cost is about $2100 plus the price of the powerwall. Includes battery combiner panel and other electrical upgrades.

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

I‘ll revise my statement as it seems impossible to figure out how the Tesla PW logic works. Everyone seems to have different experiences. So my recommendation is to try different settings and see what works best for you. Probably best to give it a few days for each setting given all the...

In the SRP you’ll do best with one large shoulder period covering both peak periods (no peak period setting). This is from many hours of studying the PW behavior and trial and error. Or better yet use Darwin’s SmartThings app to automate schedules.

Also, I’m in SRP, 8k system and had one PW but adding a second to fully squash peak usage and demand charges. I have 3 a/c units and pool with as large family always home so we use a good chunk of electricity. Solar plan rates are dirt cheap so it’s all about managing TOU and demand charges in...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

My summer bills peaked out at nearly $500 before and now under $150 due to solar, demand manager and PWs. Winter bills cut in half. Get a quote from a reputable local installer even if you go with Tesla for price. They will give you a good estimate of saving/ROI. I used Sun Valley Solar Systems...

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

I have had a couple instances of it not updating on the schedule. Not sure if it’s the gateway or SmartThing or what. Both times I woke up to find it never changed the PW setting for the morning peak period. Otherwise working quite well.

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

I have the same demand manager installed by Sun Valley Solar solutions (who also did my SunPower panels and PWs). The demand manager has always worked well with the PWs since install early this year.

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

I just use Darwin’s app to schedule self-consumption mode during the two peak periods and backup only during the off peak periods. Works like a champ without delay. I’m in SRP with 8kw and 1 PW2 (soon to be a 2nd PW2).
