    Tesla, Linux and the GPL

Ancient thread but it seems people are still interested. I finally have a legal contact at Tesla and they asked requests for compliance with the GPL to be sent there... so if you happen to want access to the source of the Copyleft software running in your car, drop me a PM (I don't feel...

    Firmware 7.1

Odd... we have 73 reports for 2.32.100 - and two for 2.34.100. Normally I'd say "hu, typo". But two in a row? And one from @andrewket who has submitted more than 30 of these entries... Other than that, 2.28.19 still seems to be the last full rollout.

    Software updates paused?

I have stopped reading the forum since the switch in forum software. For a while I still popped in once every few weeks, but I'm basically no longer engaged. The Tesla Firmware rollouts have so completely gone off plantation with random daily builds being thrown out to random cars, there is not...

    Firmware 7.1

So if I'm counting correctly we now have 47 different builds of 7.1 reported. 2.24.30 is the latest (there was no 2.23.xxx, just like there were no 2.21.xx and 2.19.xx). Nine builds in the last nine days, and none of them have received more than 20 reports, so I guess they are just doing broad...

    Firmware 7.1

One report of 2.22.15 - so we skipped 2.21 and continue the odd "multiples of 15" pattern. But one single report of a new version? Strange.

    Firmware 7.1

Passed 200 reports on 2.20.45 and reached 164 for 2.20.30. Call me cynical, but that sounds like more beta testing, in this case A/B - the sum of those two is about what we usually get for a full rollout... and a quick search seems to show no one got upgraded from .30 to .45

    Firmware 7.1

Hate to distract the entertaining sensory sensitivity conversation with boring firmware data... 170 reports of 2.20.45, low for a full roll-out after 4+ days but otherwise very broad, seemingly covering all the axis I usually look at (geo, models, batteries, VIN ranges).

    Firmware 7.1

So 2.20.30 seems to have a lot more problems with speed limits in Oregon again. The first couple of times I thought it was just bad luck, but when I had 5mph on I5 three times no I started to wonder... 85 in a 35 zone, 20 when it was 40. 5 bad readings in two days. Not cool.

    Firmware 7.1

So the 2.20.30 roll-out seems to be fading, replaced with 2.30.45 (again that jump of '15' like we had with the 2.17.x series). We have 137 2.20.30 reports, seemingly tapering off yesterday and already have 44 reports of 2.20.45. While I didn't see any 2.20.30 reports for Model X, quite a few of...

    Firmware 7.1

I actually occasionally ask people for "don't have it" posts - the tracker does really well to capture the positive statements. But the absence of the positive statements isn't as clear - so for example, we had 406 reports for 2.9.154, 417 for 2.16.17, but only 343 for 2.17.37 - did that mean...

    Firmware 7.1

Not sure why you think I hate this. Or what "this" is in this context. Actually, that's great information to see that some people are still on 2.16.17 I think that has been a question we've asked ourselves countless times :-) One thing that has worked for others is to call their service center...

    Firmware 7.1

A fair number of people got 2.20.30 - 95 as of this posting. Given the number the fact that all reports are from the US or Sweden seems interesting. At this point in the roll-out I would have expected broader coverage if this was a full release. Also, it's Model S only so far - but otherwise...

    Firmware 7.1

And after 141 reports for 2.18.77 (about a third of what I'd expect for a "full" roll-out - but both of my cars got that build) we just got the first two reports for 2.18.91

    Firmware 7.1

6.2 had a total of 23 releases that we got reports for (ignoring the unicorns that appear to be beta versions that people recorded). It used two middle digits (2.4 and 2.5). 7.1 so far has 32 builds with 10 middle digits 2.9 - 2.18. That does seem like a change. Is it significant? I don't know.

    Firmware 7.1

... and we have the first report of 2.18.18 (still calls itself 7.1 it seems). That's the 32nd build of 7.1 that we have reports for (ignoring betas). Overall the number of reports in the past 10 days has been quite slow - after the fairly complete roll-out of 2.17.37 (330 reports) only 2.17.95...
