I had Tesla take this out of my contract. In NJ, selling RECs on my own would be greater than the credit Tesla is offering. Not worth it in my opinion. But each state is different. Highly suggest reviewing the contract before accepting payment details.

Ok. Have an update. Called Tesla Solar again this afternoon and they did confirm that if I do take the Renewable Energy Credit, I will give up any rights to sell any (RECs) that I generate. I told them to take that credit out. It's a 10kW system and cost is $47K before any ITC tax credit.

That's great to hear. I'm about to pull the trigger on solar roof. Hopefully it can be installed by 12/31/20 to take advantage of incentives. I'm in south New Jersey. Will be following your install.
