Since the Model S does have a spare tire, or even room for a spare other than the frunk, is there any reason why it cannot, or should not, have run flat tires?

This is very disconcerting, especially since they have been saying that the brakes will last longer than in standard ICE cars, because of the regenerative braking. Since it seems that many of us are having this sort of problem, I wonder if there is anything that can be done about it???
