    Tesla Vision vs Parking Sensors

Have you tried cleaning the cameras?

Not sure why you say "their proprietary data". Have you had a problem with their behaviour and your data? Certainly there is 6yrs of my solar data on their site and I'm happy for it to be there. I can also allow anonymised access to it (for instance on my website) if I want. Sometimes useful...

Mine are also right on the Coast. I saw the actual MTBF figures for Enphase Micros (they have sold many millions) and they are very, very impressive. I have also bought some old M-series ones and used them for an offgrid project. I tried to pull one apart for interest. They are fully potted...

pre conditioning for non-tesla charging stations

Certainly not needed for 25kW DC charging. It used to be very frustrating at JOLT chargers when the car (LR in my case) was sucking 6.6kW to unnecessarily heat the battery. They fixed that with a software update last year so now there is no heating or preconditioning for 25kW chargers even in...

National and State Renewable Energy stats

I believe that Enphase Microinverters have been more reliable than string inverters for years. I've had Enphase for 6 years and no problems- not that this means anything in particular as 6yrs is not that long. As paulp said, there was another brand though they were strictly Optimisers rather...

pre conditioning for non-tesla charging stations

I have 2024.2.7. Yesterday I built a route with an Evie charger as the first waypoint. I started moving and the display was saying that preconditioning was happening. I did not complete the trip as it was just a test, but I think preconditioning with selected third party chargers is now here!

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yes, on my M3LR for quite some time and works fine. I have Premium Connectivity but even with that, you can only watch a few minutes of video at a time and there seems to be a daily quota (or seemed to be last time I looked). That could/would relate to the upload and download quantities in the...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I concur. Today, I was in a downpour and the auto wipers were yet again hopeless/dangerous. Saying "Wipers maximum" got me out of bother and max speed was able to cope whereas the auto setting would not go faster than intermittent wiping.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Aha, thanks for that useful information. It does seem a very sensible way to do it and presumably therefore highly automated as to which third party chargers are considered acceptable to the Tesla Nav.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

My query relates to Plugshare. Is that where Tesla gets the charging data? In Europe I thought third party providers (who wanted to be included in Tesla Nav) had to regularly log the data to Tesla as part of their submissions to be included in Tesla Nav. Is that how it works? Would NRMA and...

I really do not know. Others might have more insights.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I had a quick look at Plugshare for Narrabri and from my casual look, it does not look as if there have been enough Tesla sessions. Of course, not everyone puts their sessions into PlugShare. Still, it's a plausible explanation. Of course, if not in the Nav they may be less likely to be used...

Aircon keep vs. letting car heat up and cool down

I've worked on the aircon in my last 8 ICE cars (all European). Although I acknowledge that one COULD use the heater in this way and maybe early Teslas did this, it sounds rather inefficient. None of mine has used the heater in this way. To maintain temperatures less than ambient, they have...
