    Significant range drop

100% in the app is not true warm range. It varies by ambient temp. Tesla tries to show you the reduction of range caused by cold battery. My leaf just magically looses it while driving.

    Significant range drop

I see the temperature is 1 degC. I'm guessing the range in less because of the temperature, but not enough for the snow icon to show. Preconditioning could help as it warms up the battery after the cabin is up to the set temp.

Poll: Is FSD Worth the Cost?

I would rather put the money into the stock (would have been better to have done that 6 months ago, but..). If they actually make FSD work, it will rise more and easily pay for it if you need it when its functional.

    Do miles even matter anymore?

I live in europe so we use km. A full battery is 500 km on LR AWD. So basically if you multiply the number with 2 you get a more accurate percentage number. Ex 436 km = 87.2% But I see your point, with range as good as it is. why bother. In a car with a 50 liter tank I dont really care that...

9kW "stator heater" ON when supercharging. Hypocritical waste?

Tesla with the model 3 battery is doing exactly what researchers are now finding for optimal chargingspeed and lifetime: Electric-car batteries recharge in ten minutes when the heat is on

    Taycan Takedown

Just for fun.. If we check the difference between WLTP on e-NV200 40 kW and Leaf 40 kW. e-NV200 gets 124 miles and the Leaf gets 177 miles. e-NV200 efficiency is 124/177= 70% of the 40kW leaf. The e-NV200 would by EPA get about 78 MPGe combined efficiency (112*70%), Taycan should probably be a...

Did you know the 3 heats the battery (actively) constantly while DC charging at any speed or temp?

This is obviously not true. The battery is heated to prevent health impacts, so that the charge rate can be increased. You could put in 250kW to a model 3 battery at any time but it would be ruined, and even more so when it's cold.

Did you know the 3 heats the battery (actively) constantly while DC charging at any speed or temp?

If you actually took the time to watch the video I posted (30 seconds would be enough from the timemark i posted), you would know that the front AND the rear stators are used for heating. Usually, 7.5 kW combined. And you will see where they both stop heating. My guess why Tesla is doing this...

Did you know the 3 heats the battery (actively) constantly while DC charging at any speed or temp?

It sounds like you are using scan my tesla, when talking about battery inlet and cell temperature? Here is a video from teslabjørn regarding this. The heating actually stops when the battery reaches about 40 degC (on 50kW charger). I remember in another video when he charged at 11 kW AC with a...

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

Maybe the Jaguar XE SV Project 8: Jaguar's Project 8 saloon has broken another record But I did not find it on this list: Laguna Seca (post 1988) lap times - FastestLaps.com But that is a huge improvement over this: Tesla reclaims Laguna Seca record with a Model 3 Performance driven by an...

    Taycan Takedown

Top Gear just posted their first review. Porsche Taycan review: our first go in Tesla's big rival Curb weight over 2.2 tonnes! Thats ~800 lbs more than P3D.

Top Gear Model 3 Performance Preview!

Also, when they show the speed it rises slower than expected. Could it be that the performance version had the spoiler but not the speed unlocked?

    CCS plug is ventilated

I would have to test this more, but I expect it's just some of the coupe warmth/heat coming out. The outside temp was 5 degC. Still, it should help with the freezing in winter! It will also dry out the socket if it gets wet.

    CCS plug is ventilated

I have not seen this anywhere. I just noticed my CCS plug has air blowing out of it when the cars fans are on. The car was delivered this week, vin in 236 range.

How are Europeans liking Model 3?

Picked up my car on Wednesday, and I'm glad I was not part of the March delivery hell. After hearing all the complaints in the national facebook group, the delivery rate was raised probably 10 times the normal rate and I have no idea how they managed any preparation of the cars beyond a 5-10...
