I have this problem as well. Its not a huge issue for me. An interim work around is to fold the mirror and unfold at 80kph or higher. It will always return to the right position at that speed for some reason! Glad that Tesla HK is aware of this and has a fix in mind.

It won't solve all problems but is a step in the right direction.

I drive on the highways during the weekend and it takes a lot of the frustration out of the stop and go traffic. I agree that you have to stay alert but I think your role changes from driving the car to monitoring the car. In some respects this makes your more alert and aware of what's going on...

With the safety improvements in 8.0, especially with autopilot, you think the TD would be keen to approve it. But I guess their role is to follow the laws and regulations!
