Wow, I guess I have been spoiled, they even had a loaner ready to go when I arrived that I didn’t request.

I am not an expert by any means but I have a Tesla Android pi setup, and it has a setting to save data use by blocking sending of telemetry data to Tesla which it notes is important for FSD Beta users (which I am not so I can’t speak to it). Maybe it’s related to this? Just a guess.
