Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Cameras got upgraded on Wednesday. FSD update arrived day later. It’s raining so can’t really test.

This seems like a pretty smart way to handle it actually.

Mine was end July 2017. Got it in August. Last of the 2.0s…

FSD Transfer - NO - but Tesla says it's really OK

I had EAP and the navigate feature was very valuable when driving across country. The $6k I paid, two weeks ago, up get FSD adds…speed limit sign reading.

MCU2 was worth it for me. Everything is just faster. Voice recognition when calling, navigation, the maps, TuneIn, streaming, etc. And unlike FSD, I actually got something tangible.

FSD Transfer - NO - but Tesla says it's really OK

I agree. Even a one time transfer would satisfy most people. I’m in the same boat. 5 years is how long I usually keep a car at most. I was planning to replace this car with the new Roadster. But at present, I can’t imagine doing that unless Tesla does right by us.

FSD Transfer - NO - but Tesla says it's really OK

Very true. It boils down to how much customer loyalty matters to them. Different industries have different metrics on how valuable it is to keep the “whales” happy. I suspect that value is >$0 as $0 is how much it would cost to give someone a FSD credit. The demographic that Tesla is kind...

FSD Transfer - NO - but Tesla says it's really OK

It’s pretty baffling that they won’t transfer it, especially those who bought it 5 years ago and can’t even access the FSD beta.

We are not given the ability to upgrade the hardware. The camera upgrade is not currently available. There is no ETA on when it will. And there's no ETA on when even once you have the hardware installed that the FSD beta, the one we've been waiting FIVE YEARS for, will be available. We are...

Thats pretty disappointing. I find it pretty astonishing that they continue to allow people (like me) in late 2021 to pay thousands of dollars to “upgrade” to FSD knowing that the car is not physically capable of it. I paid and got the upgraded hardware last week. It involved being without...

As I mentioned above, I am in your VIN range and just upgraded in the past couple weeks. All through the phone app. They are happily taking the money and doing the upgrade. The main difference I've noticed from AP2 to AP3 is that it does read the speed limit signs.

Well for me, I paid $10k on the pitch we'd have it by the "end of the year" (2017). That was 4 years ago so that's basically a loan of $10k to Tesla Motors. Let's say 5% interest per year until we actually get the product purchased -- roughly $500 a year. So a fair "value" would be to give us...

After 4 years, I'm not sure how that balances. I doubt FSD on a 2017 vehicle makes much difference to its value.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

I have a July 2017 build (MCU1/AP2) that I upgraded to MCU2/AP3 this past week. I do NOT have the FSD beta (I wouldn't qualify anyway, 93 score). I was responding to whether Tesla was still allowing people with a 2017 car to upgrade to FSD and the answer is, yes. I literally paid the $5k up...
