Some quick thoughts on the ID.3

I don't believe this. With Audi having multiple E-tron models coming and the ID.4 being released early 2021, I'd say they're all in with EVs. Plus, they've built the EA network.

Some quick thoughts on the ID.3

Kyle Connor from Out of Spec had nothing but good things to say about the ID.4, which is what we'll get in the U.S. Once VW/Audi sorts out their software/app issues, they'll have compelling alternatives. Tesla still has the advantage on battery tech, range and the Supercharger network is still...

    Tesla vs Polestar

It's going to be a while before anyone can match the efficiency, charging speed and the convenience of the Supercharger network. The V3 chargers are awesome! The latest Model 3 updates are going to make it even more efficient. Don't forget the upcoming battery advances.

Is it possible to "measure" how much power is used to charge my Tesla in the garage for tax purposes

I have a JuiceBox 40 which provides data on how much energy is provided per charging session and total. That may help you.

    Supercharger Upgrades I95

Just traveled I95 thru CT. Stopped at V3 Supercharger in Madison, CT. Worked great! Hit 250 kW, which was amazing to see. Also, stopped at V3 Supercharger in Bensalem, PA, also hit 250 kW. It's nice that they install more than 4 Superchargers at these V3s. It sucks sharing a V2 and only...

    EVSE Tax Credit

You are correct about EVSE installation tax credit.

    EVSE Tax Credit

Just wanted to make relatively recent new Tesla owners aware of the tax credit for the cost of installation of an EVSE for your Tesla. Teslas bought between 6/30/19 and 12/31/19 qualify for 25% of the cost of installation, 50% between 12/31/18 and 6/31/19 and 100% before 1/1/19. Don't miss...

    Supercharger Upgrades I95

Just went through CT on I95 today. Quite a few V3 chargers being installed, but operational yet.

Model 3 100 kWh battery and Ludicrous Mode [speculation about future developments]

It seems that there is a practical limit to how much energy you can store. If they can develop a 200 kWh battery, it would take about a day to completely recharge on a typical home level 2 charger (at 9 kW). I agree that continued optimizing efficiency is critical.

    Supercharger Upgrades I95

They are putting V3s in Madison, CT on I95. I'm not sure if they are up and running yet. They've been working on them for months. I'll see if it shows up on my next trip. Charging my get so fast we may not have time to take a leak anymore!

Regenerative braking reduced message appeared while driving

You can minimized reduced regenerative breaking by having your car set to be charged and heated prior to your anticipated departure time. I usually set a charge limit of around 70%. If you charge close to 100%, there will be no regenerative braking. If you leave your car out in 10F...

Model 3 100 kWh battery and Ludicrous Mode [speculation about future developments]

Let’s hope they can increase energy density of the batteries rather than add more cells. They’ll need to do this to make the Semi viable.

    Supercharger Upgrades I95

Did a trip from Boston area to Philly. Cold and rainy most of the way, but averaged consumption in the 260 wh/mile range, so not too bad. Stopped at Darien, CT south rest stop for a charge. They have installed a bank of 14 new chargers and if I read correctly, they are rated at 250 kW! They...

    2016 Model S 34k

An electron is an electron. Supercharging versus plugging into a 110 V wall outlet won't make a difference. Many factors can affect battery performance significantly, including freezing and below temperatures, use of heater, tire pressure, frequent short trips, rapid acceleration, etc. On a...

    Do miles even matter anymore?

I have been displaying only percentage from the beginning. I know I'll get between 3-4 mile/%. I like to keep an eye on wh/mi on long trips. I know that if I' getting 241 wh/mi, I'm getting the rated range (310 miles/full charge).
