Why only 72A, 16kW AC charging?

It's all about the cost and liability . I have a Chevy Volt that defaults to 8 amps @ 120v. Pretty silly . They also limit the 240v to 16 amps when it should easily take 30 amps .

    GM Chevy Volt

The Volt is a hybrid that can run on electricity 99% of the time . It is much different than a typical hybrid that uses a gas engine assisted by a tiny electric motor . I have driven over 120 miles on electric in a 24 hour period . Think of the Volt as a Nissan Leaf with a back up...

How many miles per hour for a charge on a 110 volt outlet for Model S60

Isn't the limit 12 amps while charging on 120V ? In that case you would add 1.44 kw per hour minus about 12% heat loss . So 1.27 kw . If you average 3 miles per kWh , you get 3.8 miles . However , if you are only averaging 2.5 miles per kWh (400wh per mile) you get 3.17 miles .

No wonder why I was confused . There must be a dozen listed as Performance that are actually standard 85 . What does the pay Performance add ? Is this one is a P model ? Check out this 2014 Tesla Model S on Autotrader

I notice some are selling as Signature or Performance , but the badges simply read 85 . I have found many asking prices from $58,000 - $65,000 on the 85's . How do these VIN numbers read ? Check out this 2014 Tesla Model S on Autotrader Check out this 2014 Tesla Model S on Autotrader

You may have read Autotrader as "Auto Pilot " . I should have spelled it as two words . It seems the badging on all 2014's is just the number 85 with no P , D , or P+ . Does anyone know the different HP ratings on the P85 , P85+ and P85D for 2014 ? I went on Wikipedia , but it's all...

Thanks for the link . So , it seems for 2014 there is P85 , P85D , P85+ . Is there a regular 85 as well ? It seems like every photo on Autotrader has a 85 badge . Did they do away with the P , P+ badges ?

Can anyone help me on the 2014 Model differences ? I am targeting a pre owned 2014 with 85 kwh pack. I can only find info on the new models on Tesla website . What are the options on 2014 models ? I noticed Performance 85 . Is there a standard 85 and other packages ?

Need help getting my wife to understand

You don't know how lucky you are . I wish my wife hated my Chevy Volt . No I never see the car . She lives it filthy , doesn't bother charging it and put scrapes all over it . When I get a model S , I am going make sure she hates it .
