Front Windscreen Camera Heating Elements Not Working?

That's not the passenger side of the windscreen, it's the driver's side of the windshield! (GMT-8:00)

Front Windscreen Camera Heating Elements Not Working?

Thanks for the real-world info. I'm considering trying that when there is condensation on the inside of the camera enclosure (getting "autopilot speed limited due to reduced visibility" when the sun is shining into the front of the car, and figure the inside of the windshield is fogged around...

    Regenerative braking on icy roads

Right...but not reduce regen, but rather *balance* regen front/rear. Also, for those of us with a recent MY, you can't change regen levels at all (just get your battery cold, I guess).

    Regenerative braking on icy roads

Do you find the standard throttle map really non-linear? I have not felt the mode to either Chill or Sport myself...

    Regenerative braking on icy roads

You could just use Slip Start and be the drifting champ! In a safe location, of course...

    Regenerative braking on icy roads

I agree that you shouldn't have to make that choice; Tesla needs to have a "limited traction" mode that does what Off-Road Assist does for front/rear torque balance without turning off traction control. For me, the cost is worth the benefit of balanced regen braking, but to each their own!

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

You draw conclusions from the sample you have, even if it's not perfect.

    2021 Phantom breaking override?

I don't think your workaround will work; TACC and Autopilot will override your selection to turn off emergency braking. As will putting the car in park (you have to turn off emergency braking every time you drive if you want that). Tesla *really* doesn't want you doing this!

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

Or, put another way, recent UI update suddenly makes Tesla "not the right fit" for a large percentage of current Tesla owners. Do you not see how absurd that is?

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

Come drive over some passes with me in winter, and you'll see that "almost never" is exactly when you need it to be easy to turn on the defogger. Coming back from Astoria last weekend I had to override Auto to defog three times...with icy snow just outside the travel lane. So yeah, it needs to...

    Regenerative braking on icy roads

I'm not sure what that old mode did. On the Y there is Slip Start (which just defeats traction control) and Off-Road Assist, which also moves drive and regen braking force more forward/neutral.

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

Of course I found it, but that's an extra half-second of inattention to the road if you're doing 60 and the windshield starts to fog. Tesla controls are already bad enough given that there is no tactile feedback at all (you actually have to look at the screen to do anything), but now you have to...

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

There are things that (for safety reasons) should be one-touch and easy, like turning on the windshield defogger. The old UI was much better designed for actually driving the car; the new UI seems designed for somebody cruising in FSD. Hey Tesla? Some of us still actually drive your cars, given...

Video Breakdown/Walkthrough For Version 11 (2021 Holiday Update)

I will add my vote for the old UI. For the old version, somebody had thought carefully about what you should be able to do with one press (like the windshield defogger). Now all sorts of essential functions are in a submenu, and even the new app icons are pretty small to see while actually...

    Regenerative braking on icy roads

For sure. I certainly don't trust autosteer to find the lane lines in the snow! However, I think many drivers would be well-served by traction control, especially if they are new to snow or just jumpy or reactive. On the MY, Off-Road Assist is with Slip Start in the "Pedals and Steering"...
