taking long time to turn on / start up: 2013 Model S 60

I had this happening when I had MCU1, in my 2013 S85. My workaround was to turn off the Energy Savings in the settings. Because I don't drive the car every day, I usually left the Energy Savings on, and just turned it off during road trips, or other occasions. Since then, I got the MCU2...

    Supercharger - Altoona, IA

True... not much around. Luckily, the Kum & Go is a new, nice location, with some seating. Google Maps Google Maps (and an Anytime Fitness across the street, to work off those Cinnamon Rolls ;) )

    Supercharger - Altoona, IA

Things are looking promising for the planned Supercharger in Altoona, IA. I did a quick search of the city permits, and found an entry from 11/26/18: "KUM & GO - TESLA CHARGING STATION" Address: 1430 1st Ave N, Altoona, IA Google Maps Link: Permit Reports | City of Altoona, Iowa Go to...

Using TM-Spy to see Model S data.

I have similar car info to Benjamin: 3 years old, 38.7k miles, Original B battery. Pack 71.5. (voltage cell spread of 5mV) Interestingly today, when I plugged in, the car's rated range jumped pretty quickly from 189, to 193, as we had a cool night last night, however, the pack reading...

Using TM-Spy to see Model S data.

Just got version 0.0.1 up and running on my iPhone 6! Thanks to Gary for the LE Link Suggestion... ChrisTX for the cable, and of course, Turbo3 for the stellar coding you're doing! I am guessing this pack value (72.8) is a better indicator of degradation than the Rated Miles. And dang it...

Installed a Charger Meter for under $20

For what it’s worth, I had a few notes regarding charging efficiency. I use a Blink EVSE that is capped at 24 amps. At the end of each charging session, it shows the kWh used, and then I compared it to the kWh added to the battery (as reported by the Remote S app). Below are my results...

    Supercharger - Albuquerque NM

Yep, I experienced the 40amp cap as well when I passed through Winrock about 6 weeks ago. Picture attached to give others an idea of the power to expect. There was another forum member who got a higher rate of current than I did on the same day. So I don't know if they throttled it down...

Scottsdale to Syracuse, NY via Flagstaff to Blanding

As an added data point, although I didn't go all the way to Blanding, I did just go from Flagstaff to Bluff for a rafting trip. My rated miles were 217 with 2 adults and 100 lbs payload. If you need more juice in Bluff, as mentioned earlier, try the Cottonwood RV park, and go eat at the...

CHAdeMO Make/Model Review — Using with a Tesla

Hello all! I just wanted to contribute to the CHAdeMO thread with my early results. Last week I tried out a Nissan station (Pinnacle Nissan) in Scottsdale. It worked like a charm, but only gave about 14kW. I didn't post because unfortunately I didn't get the charger specs, other than the...

    Teslas in Movies & TV

Here's my first attempt at posting a screen grab from that episode. The exchange about the charge port is pretty funny, but it was great exposure for the S. It's Season 4, Episode 3 @ about 28 minutes. (Revenge : Ashes | Season 4 Episode 3 Watch Full Episode - ABC.com)

It IS possible to charge at 24A from a 120V TT-30 plug...

I'm VIN 3340, with a B Battery, and get the same results. The owner at Point of Rocks Campground in Prescott, AZ likes the idea of electric cars, but only has a couple 50 amps available, so I settled for a 30 amp just so I could test out my TT-30, since it wasn't too urgent. In the name of...

It IS possible to charge at 24A from a 120V TT-30 plug...

Yesterday, I was up at Watson Lake, AZ, and tried out my TT-30 to 14-50 adapter for the first time. I also hit the 20A cap. (Occasionally it would hover above and hit 21A.) Have we determined it's the newer VIN chargers, or is there a possibility it's newer UMC's that allow the higher limit?
