MCU1: Black center screen / mcu failure caused by a faulty navigation MicroSD card

Thanks for the helpful (while at times confusing) information in this thread. My 2013 model S needed frequent rebooting. I started to try to reach the SD slot from just the right side of the dash, but ended up doing both sides and pulling loose the whole unit. The best tip I can give is to...

    Supercharger - Indio, CA (LIVE, 36 V3 + 8 V2 + 2 Urban stalls)

Regarding driving L.A. to Phoenix, I remember the days before there were SCs at either Cabazon or Indio (or Blythe or Ehrenberg). One time we left Quartzsite with a full charge and found a hotel in Rancho Mirage with a Tesla 50A (40) charger. We ate and hung around for a couple of hours. Then...

    Supercharger - Indio, CA (LIVE, 36 V3 + 8 V2 + 2 Urban stalls)

I'm surprised Tesla hasn't put Superchargers at Chiriaco Summit. That's the best halfway point between Indio and Quartzsite.

USB flash drives no longer recognized

The 2020.12.11.5 update finally arrived for my 2013 Model S. This seems to have fixed the problem. My USB flash drives are now recognized and load and play songs. I did get a lockup by tapping a bunch of places to jump in and out of the loading screen and playback screen, but once all the...

USB flash drives no longer recognized

Thanks for this tip. I just checked my app and I indeed have the 2020.12.5 software. The 2020.12.10 update hasn't shown up yet. Is there any way to force it? I'm not really in any rush. I've only been getting out about once a week during this shutdown. Thanks.

USB flash drives no longer recognized

After a recent update, my USB flash drives are no longer recognized. The ports still have power and charge iPhones just fine. And the lights come on on drives that have them. I've tried 2 flash drives that previously work, and even reformatted a small drive with only 10 MP3s on it, both exFAT...

    Supercharger - Indio, CA (LIVE, 36 V3 + 8 V2 + 2 Urban stalls)

The Indio station is very busy. It's one of the few places I've had to wait to charge (also in Cabazon). I can understand this policy. With the influx of Model 3s, SCs have become fuller, especially on heavily travelled routes. We could use another charger between Indio and Quartzsite.

    Waypoints are coming!

OK, here it is...15 months from the original post hinting about the upcoming "waypoints" (I found this thread while searching and wishing for such a feature). My 2003 Infiniti nav had waypoints. My Model S is almost 6 years old and our Model X is one month older than this thread. Sigh...

So close I'm getting a real charge out of it!

    Supercharger - Indio, CA (LIVE, 36 V3 + 8 V2 + 2 Urban stalls)

I'm afraid in this case, no news is bad news.

I was at the battery swap demo and the stage was about 5 feet high so it's possible a battery swap rig could fit within that height. But we should also consider the possibility that they had 8 guys with power tools, levers and two batteries underneath the stage.
