Where to get my Tesla tinted in Austin

The store recommends SunTint on Koenig. They've done Porsches for me in the past, they do very good work. I haven't had them do mine yet because I want the ceramic tint and they want to do every window (including the windshield and pano roof in clear) and that's a bit pricey.

Warped brake rotors with aftermarket rims installed

I wish more people would read this article from the guys at Stop Tech: -Warped- Brake Disc and Other Myths They make very high performance brakes for racing applications and they say every single "warped" rotor they've seen is caused by uneven depositing of brake material on the disc. Have...

Negative Camber in the Rear and Expensive Tires

Indeed. That rear alignment is so terribly wrong it's difficult to use the word wrong to describe it. Get it realigned immediately.

Negative Camber in the Rear and Expensive Tires

After extended conversations with the service center, that does indeed appear to be the case. Keep in mind, their service techs kind of do everything. They don't have an "alignment guy" and even if they did, the only cars they ever see are made by Tesla. Since they don't know alignment and...

Negative Camber and Tire wear on MS

My service center aligned my car at least once (looks like twice) with -0.25 of toe on each side. That's an extreme amount of toe out. However, the machine they used for alignment said factory spec was -0.30 to -0.10, so that's what they set it to. Unsurprisingly, my 21" Michelins didn't last.

Negative Camber in the Rear and Expensive Tires

So... I've been wondering about the fact that the car was extremely loose in the rear under heavy acceleration. Thought maybe it didn't have the new bushings or camber bolts, but that wasn't the case. Then the car just burned through a set of the PS2s in less than 6k miles. Inside edge...

Negative Camber in the Rear and Expensive Tires

They did the alignment in late December. I asked them to check it for precisely this reason. Now I'm wondering if they had the right update on the machine at the time.

Negative Camber in the Rear and Expensive Tires

Well, at 6k miles on my P85+, I've encountered this "issue" as well. I've driven a lot of track cars and owned a lot of high performance automobiles, and the only tires I went through faster were a set of R-888's I used on a car that saw track duty almost as often as street duty. I still got...

All these Model S-crashes did NOT result in a fire

To me, the thing to take away is how little cabin intrusion there is even in the worst collisions. I'm always amazed when I find Mercedes-Benzs in the junkyard, even the hardest collisions seem to leave a very pristine interior cabin and doors that still open. The Tesla looks like it's even...

    [lolachampcar] Performance Upgrade Efforts

Do all P+ cars have these updated arms? Kind of curious as my P85+ seems a little squirrelly under hard acceleration.

    FOB and windows

My Porsche would roll down the windows if the lock/unlock button was held down after unlocking. It would roll them all up if it was held down after locking. I wish the Tesla functioned the same way.

5.9 most of us still not gotten update?

I thought I was the last, I got it last night.

    Firmware 5.9

I'm still waiting as well, and I'm not one of the 5.6 holdouts. I always update as soon as the software comes down to the car.

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

I'd like to be able to roll up the windows from the Tesla application. Windows were down on the car and it sucked that I had to run outside in the rain to put them up. I can close the sunroof, why not the windows?

    FW updates OTA vs WiFi?

My car is on wi-fi every night and still waiting on 5.9.
