    Need Tesla for NEDRA Filming

Don't know all the answers to your questions. I think they want to feature drag racing cars, but I think any fast electric will fit their bill. I believe their testing was going to be on an old airstrip where they could race some fast cars against the Volt they plan to rent. I recommended to...

    Need Tesla for NEDRA Filming

Hello all, NEDRA has been contacted by a film crew that wants to get some footage of some really fast electric cars. They will be filming on 23 September, 2011 down in southern California. We are trying to line up some of our conversions, bikes and wanted to know if someone from the Tesla...

    Elon in Iron Man 2

I caught the show a couple days ago to. And while I did not readily identify Elon as himself, I did catch it in the credits and remembered the scene and that it was him. Wish they would have worked a Tesla in there though. Tony could have retro fitted one with one of those ARC Reactors ;-)...

Wayland Invitational IV Electric Drag Races!

What do you mean, there is a whole passenger seat ;-) I was just meaning don't carry extra stuff (or a passenger) because 100 lbs = approx 0.1 seconds.

Here's a better version of this clip. Seems like Mr Fogherty made this one special for OPB http://stream1.opb.org/media/news/2009/08/0805CF_EVdragsters.mp3.m3u

Wayland Invitational IV Electric Drag Races!

This was just out on NPR. Some good coverage from the Wayland Invite  That whole trip down to Portland was a blast. Problems and all. My thanks to all who helped us out on that 2nd day; especially John for lending us his much relied upon aux battery and Otmar for upgrading code in...

Wayland Invitational IV Electric Drag Races!

Someone reasoned that since it takes you longer to get there you have a longer time to accelerate to a higher speed. Don't know if I buy that until I can get some data like you mention. Another way to look at the lower trap speed is to look at the extreme case of instant...

Wayland Invitational IV Electric Drag Races!

Ahh, its open? Or is it a limited slip? These are things I do not yet know about the car. If someone were to be able to (somehow) test this they could tell us if the car leaves a single black strip, two solid ones, or a combination of one short and one longer than the other. You...

Wayland Invitational IV Electric Drag Races!

Thats a very real possibility. But as quick as those things launch anyway, surely they make enough torque to spin the tires on wet pavement  I haven't heard yet if any of the Teslas racing lately have been noticing any tire chirp on launch, or what the 60 ft times have been on average...

Wayland Invitational IV Electric Drag Races!

Hey guys it was great having you down in Portland. I had a blast watching the Teslas breaking into the sport. I know I'm a month late in getting something posted here about the EVent, but better late than never ;-) Wanted to comment about the line lock thing. They are totally legal on the...
