Yeh the jack points are the last thing id worry about. Would take a very special place to get those wrong :)

Canberra based Tesla friendly workshops for rego transfer inspection

Good idea, at least there they don't have to hoist it. Not too sure many places have too much experience with them. I know of good places for paint protection film and wraps but sadly not many for other stuff, im sure this will change soon.

Canberra based Tesla friendly workshops for rego transfer inspection

My understanding is all interstate (unless purchased from a dealer) need to go over the pits. Takes a fair bit of time as they do the usual inspection but you also go into an enclosed bay where they do identification checks on the car to ensure its all legit.

    Suntek vs Xpel?

I'm not sure people should get too hung up on the comments of clarity of XPEL. I find nothing wrong with it and it is installed on many supercars daily, if clarity was really an issue it wouldn't be. I cant tell the difference between an installed panel and a non installed one and if your...

Xpel after 2 months of delivery on Pearl White

Good work, its always a good idea, pretty sure warranties are clear cut so if he has had problems it could be a distributor that is a pain to deal with, not the company. @number12 the installers around here have talked about 3M, some still use it! The newer version has been flakey and late to...

Xpel after 2 months of delivery on Pearl White

I hope you misheard and he is thinking of Suntek, not Stek. If he was using quality film and wanted that for his customer he would be searching for Suntek as an alternative. If he is using a cheap chinese brand called Stek then I would be worried about this installer. Also you have to be...

    Xpel - recommendation for Melbourne

Times have certainly changed since 2012, much like all technologies they get better. Had my cars done years ago and have them done now and am amazed at the difference. One advantage people forget about the film is it lowers the chance of damage that would a fix/respray. Paint can be very hard...

The value of PPF (Paint Protection Film)

There is Bray windshield skins - Home and clearplex Invisible Windshield Protection Films and Screen Protectors - ClearPlex I think bray has a couple of layers that can be peeled off if there is damage so you don't have to get it replaced right away and clearplex I believe is scratch free so...

The value of PPF (Paint Protection Film)

Not to mentioned that a lot of the paints out these days are hard to match. I had a white pearl car once which no one was able to match effectively. That led me to my search on protecting the panel from having to get a respray. Resprays usually mean a loss of value to. To the new buyer a respray...

Picking up X after front end wrap, need advice on what to look for/at

bit hard to determine what to ask as it depends on your level of knowledge but personally id want all questions answered before a product was put on my paint. Have had a few cars done you are basically looking for any eyesores. I know enough about the process to realise its impossible to not...

The value of PPF (Paint Protection Film)

Also you definitely don't need a coating applied to it to make it more glossier. I have had it put on a car with natural swirl marks from cleaning and it made it disappear and have a gloss that was better than showroom. Prob was I only had the front of the car done so it looked nice and the rest...

The value of PPF (Paint Protection Film)

I have had XPEL on my last few cars and before that 3M. If those people are happy with the 3M they have, then wait until you get a superior product like XPEL on it! There were a few options for film such as Hexis Bodyfence but it just wasn't the same quality as the XPEL I have seen. The price is...

Vendor Robust Blog: Most Common Question - Coatings vs. Waxes vs. Paint Protection Film?

Awesome write up! I would like to see Vinyl Wraps added in there somewhere. Have had both PPF and Vinyl on my cars over time and there is no denying the protection that vinyl gives for everyday wear and tear, has always stood up to daily driving. Also has a benefit the others don't and that is...

    Teslas in Canberra

I noticed a detailing place in Canberra has done a few Opticoats on Tesla's. I would have thought with Canberra's particularly 'stoney' roads there would be more after XPEL clear bra's. Something a bit more than stain and light swirl protection. Ive got XPEL on the front of my current Audi and...

    Teslas in Canberra

Maybe take a look at the plates that are available through the motor registry as some are hard to identify unless you are used to seeing them in the ACT. Even some custom ones might work out cheaper than the duty. Personally at first glance of VIC plates in the ACT I don't notice the difference...
