yes disconnecting it will not allow you to close trunk from app or screen in car, can only close using button on inside lip of trunk, you can still open trunk from app / screen / button above license plate

Your last sentence I completely agree .. that’s what irks me most .. how much money was wasted by losing extra 3-4% every night. Trunk not opening or closing with app one thing but something we paid for actually costing every month 🤦🏻‍♂️

if latch is working it pulls apart very easily .. try pressing on small different areas of tab while gently pulling apart

are you serious?? it takes a laymen like me 10 min to pop off panel / unhook cable / pop panel back on .. AND it's their hardware causing issue 🤦🏻

In my case there was a large connector seen first after removing panel, then forward of it there is another large connector with the smaller connector clearly seen coming off of it. If you have not disconnected these type of connectors when you press or lift (I can’t recall now which) on the...

Here in lies the biggest frustration for me and likely others this IS from Tesla … purchased thru Tesla app sold and installed by Tesla so by most ppls judgement falls under OEM. Issues described by OP are same seen by some of those who purchased from Tesla and had installed by Tesla at a Tesla...

i would love to get my money back from retrofit and go back to manual trunk ..or at min have SC acknowledge there is a hardware problem / attempt to replace component (s). Disappointing for a "factory" retrofit

When app showed a $275 inspection (2nd time I would have taken car to SC due to not sleeping post trunk retrofit) that’s when I decided didn’t want to roll dice on them not calling it a warranty issue and the fee not being waved. Wonder if armed with knowledge that disconnecting the canbus...

i would think majority of people are not having this problem or would see more complaints here .. unless as stated above a lot pf ppl use sentry mode at all times or dont notice their car not sleeping / losing extra 2-3% every 8 hrs 🤷🏻‍♂️

So just to clarify removing the harness behind the center console resulted in your model 3 deep sleeping again? If so I will try this as well until this issue is (hopefully) resolved

YES ! I have had the issue of car not sleeping since power trunk retrofit … I thought it was fixed when service center “reset” my rear window defroster but it was not (rear glass was chipped during retrofit) I have tried every possible setting on car releated to deep sleep even did the reboot...
