I don't want to haul people. I have no need for a third row of seats and would prefer they weren't there or removable. The open space is so much more useful to me. Removable third row seats would satisfy those with kids and also those (like me) with large dogs who need the space more than seats.

From what I can tell, they are fold-flat. I'd like for them to be both fold-flat AND removable, so I can have the head room for the dogs. And we don't want them to jump out from any higher than they have to. We will never need the third row of seats for people. A second (less-desirable) option...

Hmm, that would be a problem. We need the height for the dogs. I wonder if the 2nd row is removable? That would work too. As long as we can put the seats back in when we (rarely) have other people with us. No kids, just two large dogs.

Could you tell or were you told if the third row was easily removable? We have two large dogs to put back there.

We carry two large Akitas around frequently and so the most must-have feature for the X would be a removable third row with second row sliding forward to allow the dogs to climb into the back area. We want them to be removable (rather than just folded flat) to make the exit as low as possible so...

One small thing which is huge for me: My 4Runner's sun visors slide along (extends out on) an arm so that they can be positioned where the sun is when on the sides, against the doors. That's something I love in the 4Runner, and would love in the X. Should be simple to do.
