How to justify:
1) You can afford it.
2) You want it.
3) There is no step three.
I rented a Lamborghini Huracan to drive from Denver to Vail and back over the summer. It was super fun, but not a game changing driving experience like the original Roadster or even the S. It would appear this...
Went back last night. Made a point of not charging for a couple days to get the range down around 30 miles left. Set it to range charge. Filled up to 252 in the advertised hour and 20 minutes on the dashboard while I gorged on some wings.
Superchargers are awesome.
Omaha here. Air temps this morning were -10F. Parked inside overnight in controlled temp (±60F). P85.
My typical 40 mile all highway commute was the same as ever, save some extra frozen condensation on the inside of the driver's window (I tend to generate a lot of body heat). Once the...
Hey all. Apologies for the lack of response to those of you that have expressed interest via PM. I've literally had a month of 18 hour days. I promise to get in touch with all of you shortly.
I don't disagree with the Californian's route. Just saying that's nothing close to what the Tesla site has on the map for Winter 2013.
Californians do know the difference between South Dakota and Nebraska, right?
Apologies if this was pointed out elsewhere, but...
Tesla's website (Supercharger | Tesla Motors) says "Winter 2013 – Coast-to-coast travel via I-80". The dots on the Winter 2013 slider map on the same page show the gray dots cutting through South Dakota on I-90.
I-80 goes right through...
My Roadster, the Lexus Hybrid dinosaur that goes away when the X arrives, my S (back left), and an S from Des Moines (back right) in town for the zoo, charging up via PlugShare...
It's like a bag of Skittles.
Hey all. Since getting the S, it's safe to say my Roadster isn't going to have nearly as many miles put on it as before, so I'm toying with the idea of selling it. And to be honest, I really don't have an asking price in mind. Would entertain any serious inquiries.
Here's the thread from...
Rode it from 39 to 84. Just unloaded my initial investment. Have more money leftover. Not bad for <90 days.
Between that and getting my S delivered this morning I'm smiling like I got away with something.
And it's here!
I live downtown. I had a crowd of bus drivers, construction workers, neighbors, cops, etc, all stopping to watch it unload. For even more drama it came down on a lift off the second deck of a semi.
It's too damn cool.
Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth.
#9575 is in St Louis waiting for a truck to bring it to Omaha, and my point of contact is someone named Joe DiMaggio.
True story.
