Just as an update to anyone who experiences this in the future- mobile service showed up with the new amplifier and that did, indeed, fix the issue. All is back to normal.

Interesting. I'm having the same issue and they have also pre-ordered an amp for my upcoming mobile visit. Any idea which connector was loose?

2021 Model 3, having this same issue. I scheduled on the app and they pushed my date back and rescheduled me a later date to "order and have an amplifier based on symptoms" at the time of my mobile visit.

Also to add- all connections at the amp as well as at the sub appear to be firmly in place and there is a solid amber light on within the amp itself.

I am also having this problem on a new 2021 with 258 miles. It seems this problem has been around for a while. I am getting intermittent sounds from the rear deck speakers that cut in and out with nothing from the sub, intermittent pops and crackling sounds.

I have the same issue in my new X (700 miles), since day 1. I have been patiently waiting for some info or a fix to come out, however we seem to be drowned out by the other and seemingly much more common shudder related to the drive axels on acceleration vs braking like we are referring to.

I think this answer my have hit the nail on the head. I do recall the 3 blue visual warning being very eye-catching while the X is definitely much smaller and less noticeable. I bet this is what is tripping me up. I'm not, but actually had to go check. Good thought.
