Nice!! Won't have to pay some guy $400 to do this then.
Also, I am about to pick up the tilt motors this week. Would you recommend to go ahead and install them prior to getting any access to re-programming?
I ask because I saw the manual states to resync and reload the software when swapping...
I know you previously mentioned enabling "global" headlights is now available through the menu options but do you know how we could enable tilt in shell?
There is barely anything out there (that I've found) on manipulating toolbox.
Dude, i just opened a service request to swap to center-horn yoke 2 weeks ago and they did it for free!! They labeled it as peeling on the invoice but I never said it was. Totally worth a shot!
BTW, from the service site, tesla says you can use a diagnostic cable with part#: 1669075-00-A Tesla 2-1 harness kit or this one Ebay diag cable
anyone heard/seen this in action before?
For those looking into the tilt screen retrofit, the VCLeft controller GEN4 has gone up in price. Its now $445.
Total is $535+$40 tax :(
edit: Tesla SC says the 1585694-00-C part # is compatible with 03-B so I am going to give that one a shot from a vendor on eBay $190 vs $445. definitely...
My 11/21 build date S got UWB active with 2024.8.7 a few days ago and it is awesome. I'd often have to take my phone out of my pocket to get the car to recognize it. Not anymore!!
PS: on iPhone 15 Pro
This is actually what I was thinking. Seems like a good way to recoup some money and help others borrow the tools needed for a one-off project.
I am reaching out to two service techs that I have in my contacts to see if they are willing to help or know how to help with these self-retrofit kits.
