    TPMS dilemna

Thanks for posting that solution. When my wheel positions did not reset after a rotation — which they're supposed to do after a 10 minutes of driving over 15 MPH — a Tesla service guy told me there's nothing I can do and that they would have to use a relearning tool, which they did. Next time...

What is this exactly on my brand new Model Y?

Sounds like a factory paint defect underneath the clear coat. I hope not. But either way, based on my experience with a similar issue, I'd take it elsewhere because Tesla service centers and their contractors are hopeless at detailing and repainting. I reported a large defect on my frunk hood...

    Vendor Hello from Discount Tire!

Thanks @Discount Tire. Yes it was my Model Y, and as mentioned I did everything according to the manual. The TPMS signal is being received, and I see the tire pressures on my screen but they aren't resetting to their new locations. I assume it's a defect in my Model Y, but it would be nice if a...

    Vendor Hello from Discount Tire!

@Discount Tire since you folks sell TPMS I would assume your techs have TPMS relearning tools available, no? Or is the Tesla relearning process more complicated than most? When I asked at America's Tire in Sunnyvale, the guy who helped me had never heard of relearning tools. After a previous...

Poll for California Drivers - Did You Install Your Front License Plate?

Heh. Yeah that's the lesson there: never wash your Tesla, lol. Seriously though, I can't believe they charged him for re-mounting the frame. Typical Tesla SC, making it up as they go. I suspect he didn't manage to get all the NY soot off his bumper before mounting, but regardless Tesla should...

Poll for California Drivers - Did You Install Your Front License Plate?

My 2018 MX and 2022 MY were both delivered at the Fremont factory with their license plate frames tossed into the frunks. In 2018 I had a Service Center install the screw-mounted frame on the MX for free during a visit for warranty issues. They did their usual sloppy job, and it's been mounted...

Model Y: Daily Use changed from 90% to 80% in last week or so...

Thanks. With your help I also found it in the 2023.26 release notes: 2023.26 Official Tesla Release Notes - Software Updates (Search for "Daily Charge" Limit.) My Model Y started recommending 80% after the 2023.26 update, but my Model X does not recommend any specific charge ceiling.

In California. If I have Tesla Insurance and I buy a new Tesla, do I have 10 days to switch it to the new car?

In California your existing insurance card for your old car is all you need to take possession of the new car. I do not have Tesla Insurance so can't confirm that 10-day requirement, but I can tell you that my insurance agent assured me that I could relax, that I wouldn't be driving without...

Report yourself high mileage and repairs to date?

In case you get a yellow border again: the service centers have a UV treatment for that. That cured mine. I had tried some consumer-grade UV on it myself, covered in aluminum foil, but that didn't work as well.
