Would you upgrade to EAP from AP for $3K?

Not commenting on Tesla's side of the equation but just based on my perspective as a consumer with EAP, $3k to go from autopilot to NOA would not be worth it to me. I use NOA and I like it mainly because I find I'm less likely to miss a freeway exit/interchange, but the marginal value for me is...

    FSD going up 8/16

You underestimate how frequently Tesla has changed its pricing structure and what it sells. When I bought in early January 2019, buying FSD was simply not an option at the time of purchase. It very well may have been an option just a month before I bought (when different options/prices were in...

Those with EnhancedAP to receive 3k discount on FSD

And, hopefully, pedestrians. They've never been clear on the car's current ability to recognize and react to pedestrians, but for obvious reasons, I always operate on the assumption that it can't. And if their new traffic light "warning" system is any indication of the technology they're...

Those with EnhancedAP to receive 3k discount on FSD

Post-delivery EAP was supposed to be $7k (but can't verify that, but that was what it said when I bought mine), so if that's the case, the most might be $13k. Someone who quickly had buyer's remorse and added on EAP after taking delivery but before FSD was announced as an option ($7k), and then...

Attempt at having Tesla install wall connector.

That's great! Worth it I think. I get by with a combination of Level 2 charging at places in the area and some 120V charging (I'm in an apartment so the charging situation has been complicated, to put it mildly), but the peace of mind of being able to have a full charge every day, not having to...

Those with EnhancedAP to receive 3k discount on FSD

$3k upgrade price is worth it if he puts his money where his mouth is and contractually guarantees that prices will continue to increase and early adopters will benefit. He'd have my money today if he did that. Otherwise, history tells us otherwise and all we can do is make the best decision we...

    FSD going up 8/16

I really never gave this that much thought before the recent tweets -- I initially thought that EAP people should be grandfathered in, since FSD wasn't even an option that could be purchased then, Tesla advertises that your car continues to improve after you buy it so it would be consistent with...

    FSD going up 8/16

It's one thing to treat people who purchased at two different times, based on two different pricing structures, differently. My issue is with inducing people to pay $5k for a set of features at the time of purchase, based on the statement that those same features would cost $7k later. With it...

    FSD going up 8/16

"Ish" would be the key word. I just checked and it's still $6k. $2k would make more sense given their prior advertising. That would mean FSD would cost $7k for people who bought EAP on delivery, $9k for people who didn't, maintaining the $2k price hike they advertised for not buying it at delivery.

    FSD going up 8/16

Offering FSD for current EAP owners for $2k or $3k when the new features actually exist makes sense and would be worth it to me. Right now the $9k vs $11k total cost for cars bought without/with EAP is annoying because they affirmatively represented on the purchase page that the EAP features...

    Flat tire questions

Preparing in advance. I have a bad history with flat tires. I've had many in my past, and none have been repairable. (Feel free to judge my driving.) My old car has a full size spare wheel/tire, which was very convenient. It seems that when you call Tesla's roadside service for a flat, they're...

    O mi/hr 0/12A 175V - what's going on?

Did some more experimenting. I forgot to mention it's the garage of an apartment building, so I need to go through my manager (just a couple days ago they agreed to let me charge for free as a favor while they're working on installing one I'll pay for, so I hate having to say anything!). I did...

    O mi/hr 0/12A 175V - what's going on?

See the attached image. I was charging my car at a regular 120V outlet, and got a message that charging has stopped. I tried to start charging again, and this is what it shows. The green light is flashing, it sometimes flickers to 1 amp then back to 0, and voltage goes between 175V to 177V. This...

    Autopilot - Carpool Lane Fail

Yup, same thing happens to me in LA. Including wanting to change lanes into the median. If I have my navigation settings set to allow HOV lanes, it'll aggressively force me to on NOA; and if I have NOA on when I'm in a carpool lane when I have the HOV option off, it'll aggressively force me out...

16.2 Near Collision w/ Auto Lane Change

I find any follow distance greater than 1 or 2 is more dangerous on urban freeways. I started out with a follow distance of 3 on LA freeways, and it was scary. I switched it to 2, and that solved a lot of problems, and switching it to 1 gave me even more confidence with NOA. The reason being...
