    Help: Stain on white seat

One thing you could test on an inconspicuous spot is pure kerosene. It's great at lifting oil-based stains. First make sure you have pure kerosene by placing a few drops on a pure white coffee filter. If it evaporates after a few hours totally invisibly and with no residual odor, then you...

    Voice Recognition

My 2013 S stopped recognizing any voice commands at the last update, 2020.4.1. Voice navigation is now useless; I must type in all destinations. Judging by what it does interpret, it seems to be cutting off the last word of the command. Unlike some others, I've never had to hold the Voice...

How I fixed my air suspension leak for $1.00

My suspension light came on in my 2013 for the first time early this week, just for a half hour or so and not since. I'm going to check under my frunk this weekend. Thanks for the great DIY tutorial!

Got the dreaded "battery charge level is restricted" message yesterday

It's now been a week since I got the car back. When I pointed out the apparent range reduction @ 92% SoC, the Lawrence SC told me to give the battery "some weeks" to break in before getting a true reading of its range (but I've already caught them giving me nonsense answers to other things)...

Got the dreaded "battery charge level is restricted" message yesterday

A few weeks after it had suddenly dropped 16km of range, my 2013 85 with ~148000km (92000 mi) suddenly disabled supercharging while I was charging in Victor, NY en route from Albany to Toronto. Fortunately I was still able to use an 80A HPWC to get home and Tesla made arrangements to replace...

    Pearson Airport 10day cold soak

That variability in regen is a design flaw that I wish Tesla would fix by diverting any regen above what the battery can accept due to low temperature into warming the battery. Seems like a win-win: getting regen into the battery faster and a consistent experience for the driver.

Handles work OK but all 4 LEDs are out

Great video, thanks! That builds confidence that I'm not going to go in there and wind up breaking something. I'm incredulous that all of them would go so soon, so I am eager to test that theory. If they do need replacement then I'll check the drive current, assuming there is any, and replace...

Handles work OK but all 4 LEDs are out

Right. The SC confirmed there is no common failure point for these LEDs, outside of total handle failure of course.

    Any experience with this spoiler?

I bought a glossy one of these from a Canadian reseller a year ago, who presumably got it from China, and have been very happy with it. Came with the 3M tape and is rock solid.

Handles work OK but all 4 LEDs are out

That's me saying the labour to remove and service all 4 door handles for 4 tiny LEDs, none of which should ever have failed, let alone all four nearly together, is not a reasonable expense.

Handles work OK but all 4 LEDs are out

All my door LEDs have gone out and they all seem to failed in fairly rapid succession, though I can't say I noticed specifically when each one failed. The SC says they're all burnt out and there isn't one failure point that would make them all go at once. Those LEDs should outlast the vehicle...

How much has your Model S cost you out of warranty?

New charge port $700 CAD. The locking pin was activating but not fully engaging so the system said 'Check charger power' which made it impossible to charge.

Atlantic Canada - any Tesla owners out there?

I made the trip from Toronto to Truro last October in my S85 and returned in November. I delayed my trip waiting for the promised Bangor SC to happen last fall but finally settled for a 'leisurely' day on day 2. I planned my route to use only SC and 70A L2 chargers. There are a couple of...

White Lift Gate for Model S

Hoping to find a salvage lift gate with glass, preferably in white for an easy swap without painting.
