Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You are making it political. Because he is saying similar things to people you think are morally bad, you think he is morally bad too. It's very unforunate that c19 has become a political football. Now having an opinion on c19 equals taking a political side. Nothing good can come out of this.

He can say whatever he wants when defending himself against a lawsuit, it's an exeption. If Elon is innocent this might be a big motivation for him not to settle and prove his innocence. At that point I would think he will be able to say that a court of law found him innocent from the sec...

This might be one of those counterintuitive truths. "Weirdly, all the negative press seems to increase sales!" Elon Musk on Twitter

He also said that all ventilators, weather tesla bought them or built them, will be donated. I don't think he will make an exeption for Africa, of all places.

    Coronavirus

Yeah, I agree with your arguments. Trends look promising in Italy but we need the rest of the week to see. The numbers I had were from some italian media, that apparently had the wrong numbers. Also I think it's important to note that recorded cases are a minority compared to the actual...

This is odd. Because that's not what I've been hearing on tv the whole day. Il bollettino di martedì 24 marzo: per il terzo giorno rallenta la crescita dei contagi. 743 nuove vittime I'll try to figure it out but we are getting OT again so I'll leave it here. Edit...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Be careful to make sure you are talking about the same trends here. You say that Italy reversed the downward trend yesterday, and that's true for number of deaths, but it's untrue for number of (recorded) new cases, which kept the downward trend. If you want to use number of deaths as your...

Basically no insurance. Not needed. Most of the health care is public and essentials are guaranteed to everybody. (I have a cronic condition for which I have to do blood tests every 6 months and take some madication every day. Never paid a cent. No insurance.) The question here is not what...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

My point was made in the context of why shipments of goods and ro-ro ships are unlikely to be stopped from the US to Europe even if we have a strong increase of cases in the US, while the most likely problem for tesla in terms of shipment would instead be getting the cars delivered if countries...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You are confusing incubation time and time to recovery for those that get sick. After two weeks of quarantine either you are ok, which means you don't have the virus (incubation time is shorter than two weeks), or you got sick, which means you have to be kept isolated until you are no longer...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Traveling of people and traveling of goods are two different things. A quarantine lasts two weeks, how much time does a ro-ro ship need to get from SF to Europe? Exactly. I see problems for tesla in Europe not being able to deliver the cars once a country goes on lockdown. Depends on each...

    Coronavirus

I think it's important to distinguish the extreme cases that the press is most likely to report to the average situation. If you take extreme cases as the rule you are going to wildly overastimate the danger and quite frankly, think that the world is ending. Not saying things should not be taken...

That 3.4% is not the actual death rate. The actual death rate is lower than that as many cases, particularly the milder ones, are not reported. That's also a big reason why you see the death rate change from country to country and in different periods of time in the same place.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

After all the false and misleading articles that we've seen about tesla, after all the out of contex info and quotations that have happened with elon and tesla, why wouldn't you be very careful to take *anything* that comes out of the media at face value? What if that number was taken out of...

    Coronavirus

Some news from Italy. The italian strain has been isolated and studied. First findings suggest that the strain has been around since... october! In Piacenza in november they had a spike in pneumonia cases not linked to any specific cause (like low air quality). Piacenza is very close to Codogno...
