I guess it's a Canadian thing. I've never seen stop lights, signs or cones. I do see cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians. July 2017 delivery of MX with enhanced AP but paid for FSD when on sale last year. 3.0 chip next week.

Visualizations work with MCU1 and HW 3.0? I always could see cars, trucks etc.. Stop lights, signs and cones I’ve been told can’t be seen without an upgrade of the media computer... at least that is what is being reported in Canada.

That’s what I said. I’m still living with MCU1 and so far, all I can expect from FSD upgrade is dash cam capability. For now.

That’s good news. Amazing that so many forum posts stated the cameras on our 2.0 cars were black and white and did so with seeming authority. It appears that dash cam activation is the only visible improvement for us so far (at least In Canada). Wonder if we will ever see the autopilot...

I know our 2.0 vintage cameras are limited in the colours they are able to see. Our radar has a shorter range than later generations. Wondering how these things will limit the FSD capabilities that we purchased?

Likely correct. I was responding to another HW 2.0 owner who has also purchased FSD and who therefor has shorter range radar, non full colour cameras and a lack of steering redundancy. HW 2.5 came with these (and more) improvements.

Most are of the opinion that you (we) won't get sentry or dash cam because those features need a new MCU (which is a different upgrade). If you already have EAP, then you should eventually gain traffic light and stop sign recognition. Not sure what else... maybe advanced summon.

Again, I hope you are correct and when the new FSD chip is installed into my HW 2.0 car, the dashcam and sentry mode recording will start to work (even if the camera is inferior). FSD of course is a bigger deal. I don't think anyone knows for certain about what functionality is likely for HW...

Hi Hope you are correct but many say otherwise.

I’m in the same boat but apparently the FSD upgrade will not give us Sentry Mode. Those run on two different computers.

I already had enhanced AP when I bought FSD a few months ago. Sorry, but what is the difference between old FSD and new?

I personally doubt this will happen, especially since they took money from AP2.0 owners for the FSD upgrade as recently as March 2019.
