A run in with the law...has this happened to anyone else?

    That's a $460 fine in Norway... $640 if it's 16-20km/h over.

    Hill Hold Function

Using some throttle while braking shifts the brake balance and applies more lock to the rear differential. This helps keep the car stable when trailbreaking into a corner at high speed. There is no reason to do it in regular driving and you would normally have to adjust everything from...

Model S Performance vs BMW M5

Too sedate huh? Well it seems BMW don't agree because they recently announced that they were no longer going to offer manual transmission in their M series... I would say most motorsports fans prefer classic cars due to their low tech nature. M5s will join this category very very soon.

Model S Performance vs BMW M5

Numbers mean nothing and you can argue until the cows come home. What matters is real world performance. I think it's time Tesla put the model S through some laps on a track to compare - like Laguna Seca. I'm thinking the Model S performance should be able to pull more Gs in the corner than...

    Performance vs. S acceleration

I like the off topic! I think Tesla should go for touring car racing first. Letting the Bluestar go head to head with Chevrolet Cruze, BMW 320 etc in the WTCC would be sweet. Only how do you make it fit within the rules when it's a 2.0 litre championship...? It would make for some exciting races...

    Comparable Cars

No it's "unfortunately" the other way around. Timing shifts with seamless clutch systems like you get in current high end cars is so easy that it is not unusual for reviewers to achieve lower times than what the manufacturer lists. But even with a regular stick shift and clutch it's not all that...

    Comparable Cars

I'm certain it will! Now if only the interior could be as nice as well. I hope someone makes a funny sticker making fun of those two particular models. Even though it may be outclassed, it would be interesting to see some lap times at twisty tracks like Laguna Seca compared to the competitors...

    Comparable Cars

At $85,000 the Model S Performance is close to BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 in both cost and 0-60 times. I guess the ICE cars have some more top end speed, but the Tesla corners better thanks to it's low centre of gravity.

    Comparable Cars

    I think this is a sensible comparison: Tesla S performance = $84,900 0-60 4.4 seconds Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG = $88,900 0-60: 4.4 seconds BMW M5 = $85,700 0-60: 4.4 seconds While googling for this I stumbled onto this article: Tesla Model S Sport to rival BMW M5, 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds...

Which version Model S are you buying?

I would normally never buy such a big pig of a car but would opt for something more sporty like a Lotus or a Porsche. But the tax rules in Norway are so favourable I just can't not buy it. So to justify the purchase to myself I have at least get the performance version.
