Update!
Weird cracking sound in steering wheel is simple. It's SHIM PLATES. Just wanted to update this incase anyone else ever experiences the problem. The shim plates are located in the steering column. Replacement cost for me was $250. Happy it was something easy :)
Duuuude. Boom! You are awesome! That WORKED lol. I always stopped past the "You *must* use the app to schedule, modify, or cancel service." lol
Spoke to someone and got clarification on several things AND found out my car should be ready today or Monday. :D
Additionally, I know the message is important. We are doing MCU2 upgrade and then also fixing a popping sound when turning the wheel (most likely shim bolts being replaced). But he had said "we'll contact you on the messaging system first before we proceed with doing the steering sound work so...
Tried this one already, unfortunately. Deleted app, rebooted, downloaded app, logged in, same issue.
Tesla really needs to fix this problem. If they want everything to be app-based only, then the app needs to be working.... But I know they switched from text notification to app-based. Why...
When I click 'status', it says "looking for appointments', then very quickly displays "Failed Fetching Translation File", then gives the final error of "trying again."
I can't do anything except click the "service status" button. Won't let me view anything else or try to click anything else, other than the settings icon which doesn't show anything related.
Here's a look. First page, and then the error when I click "service status"
Hey everyone,
My car is at service and I do not have a phone number for them. I had a notification on my phone that said I had a new message. When I open my app and try to view it, it says "Error, try again later. Failed fetching service tracker."
I've tried logging out, deleting the app...
Yeah I don't think I'd proceed with it if it weren't for my leaky IC.
And I appreciate you letting me know, service did inform me of this. It wasn't a concern to me as I never even use the AM/FM/XM and just stream. They did mention it could be added on for $500 extra, if anyone is curious...
Spoke with service today. Instead of doing the mcu1 warranty, I'm going to just do the mcu2 upgrade which will also swap out the IC. Only makes sense. He said the IC replacement is already $1400, vs if I just do the MCU2 upgrade (and they have to replace it anyway), it's $1500.
Thank you. I have the MCU warranty to do, so they said they can just upgrade to MCU2 for an extra cost, which I'll do, since that replaces the IC. I appreciate the info, sorry to hear you are still having issues :(
Is this a cosmetic only issue? Or does the screen eventually fail? I'm having this issue and the cosmetic of it doesn't bother me, I'm more worried about being stranded.
Thank you. So do you think that it's failing? Or is this fairly standard?
I am heavily considering MCU2. Service quoted me $1500 when I go in to do the warranty. Wasn't sure if it was worth spending the extra on it. Glad to hear it's night and day difference; plus you get the LTE, Netflix...
Little bit worried I'll be stranded at some point.
I have a (new to me) 2015 P85D with only 38K miles. The instrument cluster has the bubbles behind it and I can see those bubbles are leaking a bit at the bottom (where they're leaking to, I don't know, somewhere behind the cluster I guess)...
Hey everyone,
So I recently just purchased a Model S and, when looking at the pictures, I thought the middle seat's armrest was just folded down. When I picked up the car I realized I had the heated executive rear seats with center console. Unfortunately we need a five-seater and not a...
