Anybody try the Nankang 21" tires?

Yes, I think you're right. After I posted this, I looked at Tire Rack's Vredestein Quadrac Pro description and it described that the inner tread is different than the outer tread. They serve different purposes and can't be flipped. Perhaps, a tire mfr will make a special Tesla tire that has...

Anybody try the Nankang 21" tires?

After getting only 13000 mi on 21" Hankooks for my P85, I thought of an idea that I wanted to run by the forum. The Hankooks are directional but the Nankangs are not, I am pretty sure. This won't work with directional tires but how about taking the rear tires after about 4000 or 5000 miles...

I will never buy 21" tires again

My Second cracked 21" wheel in two years. After an 8000 mile road trip from San Diego to Calgary and back, I also had a cracked 21" wheel on my last day, fortunately. Can't imagine what hassle it would have been to crack one in remote Canada! This crack has me down for four days: One to...

Air Suspension no longer lowers at highway speeds (FW update v5.8)

Good question! I also will try staying with 5.6 as long as possible. Hopefully it will not nag me every time I get in the car asking when to install 5.8. That would be annoying but worth it. I have the driveway scrape problem that one poster had. I also do not want any reduction of range...

How To Handle Friends/Relatives Who Bring Up The Tesla Fire

On the ABC news site I found this quote: http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory/tesla-fire-shows-electrics-face-safety-challenges-20463902 "If you think about what you'd rather be close to, 10 gallons of gasoline or a battery pack, I'd pick the battery pack every day," said Giorgio Rizzoni...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

I have firmware 4.5 but my charge slider does not show a percentage like the screenshot in this thread shows???? I wish it did. Does anyone else have a slider without a percentage number?

12 amps down to 5, and a question

What voltage does it show on the Model S screen? Take note of the voltage at 5 Amps and adjust it back to 12 and see if the voltage drops more than a few volts. If it does, I'm guessing that the Model S senses a bad connection or a loaded circuit and drops it back to the 5 Amps. Perhaps there...

Should I buy pre-paid service/extended service? Or annual service every 2 years?

What about the software updates? I think we need the service plans for them beyond V4.xx.

What is "LOW" setting Really for?

The first time I brought mine home and drove up the driveway, the bottom scraped the pavement due to a steep incline to my garage. Now, I have to stop and raise it to very high, every time I park it in my garage. I would like it to do that automatically using a location based option, just as...
