Ticketing for no front plate in Santa Monica and stick-on front plate option

To be sure to get the LPW off without harming the paint (red model 3), has anybody applied a layer of clear 3M vinyl first, then applied the LPW on the clear vinyl? Suggestions? Thanks, Gary

Ticketing for no front plate in Santa Monica and stick-on front plate option

If the car was coated with Ceramic Pro: 1. Would normal 3M clear vinyl stick properly? 2. Would the LPW stick properly? 3. When one applies 3M vinyl, one usually floods the surface with Rubbing Alcohol. When applying the LPW, does one do the same thing? 4. To conform the LPW to a compound curve...

Is this really going to happen? Adding artificial noise. It’s a shame if so.

The new regs show a broad spectrum frequency range, and specify (maybe suggest) db levels, and say that all cars of the same model should have the same sound. So, no custom sounds, and not just higher frequencies. Sound to come ON when not in Park mode (thus, in "idle") and stay on until...

    Interrupted Charging

$45 plus shipping and tax Presumably it could be removed with a pocket knife or a fingernail clipper?

Security Guards at Super Charger Stations

A mistreated dog and a mistreated Glock ... perhaps quite similar, I suspect.

    Using TM-Spy for Android

Try the Low Energy Bluetooth (BT 4.0) OBD adapter (LELink), now supported by both the Android and iOS versions of TM-Spy, I believe.

Using TM-Spy to see Model S data.

As a reminder, post 138 of this thread shows the Sept 2015 (and later) Tesla S and X Tesla Diagnostics Connector (TDC), and its location behind the passenger side "hockey-stick" trim piece. I believe that Chris TX still makes a 4-wire adapter from this TDC to an OBD connector, which he sells...

Tesla says it can't be done: But it can: new higher resolution rear camera

I did not find "camera 1061269-00-B" or just 1061269 ... do you have a link to this product where you bought it, please?

Does the Model S have an OBD-II connector?

Having the standard OBD CONNECTOR does not mean any specific device will work. Here's why: Most of the OBD "dongle" devices expect to be plugged into a vehicle which has the emissions-mandated OBD-II signals, pin usage, and command/response structure. The device then communicates, often via...

    Front license plate option

It has been reported that ... If you park at one of the LA area major airports (or at a public parking meter in Santa Monica) without a front plate, you are most likely to get a ticket. Maybe we could work toward getting the use of vinyl plates legal in California.

    My Tesla needs repair....

Where is Avio Coach Craft located, address and phone, or web link would help, please. Glad you got your Tesla back in good shape. Being able to drive the car while waiting for parts helped me too, I got a month of driving before I actually delivered my S for rocket-surgery. Our next SoCal EV...

    Firmware 8.0

I suggest that the 50-plus pages of speculation about 8.0 should be in a different, non-sticky thread. To avoid 1000 speculation posts, this thread should only be about the released version.

    My Tesla needs repair....

LNA? If they want to cut into the B post, I could go with you to talk to them, BEFORE they do anything serious. Also, if the airbags were not deployed, I would think that the sensors should be good, and I would ask more about that. If you want some help, just ask. Also, you might remember...

No Google Map on 17" ... due to Insufficient Memory?

Rick, thanks, I had not heard of others having such broken maps.

    Firmware 8.0

Is 8.0 likely to return to user-friendly, easy to recognize User Interface buttons?
